What is Life Anyway?
What is life anyway?
Have I the right to live
When someone else just died
A bloody death in some war torn land
Or of starvation in some barren land
Or of abortion
In a clinic in New York.
Have I the desire to live
In a world so violent as this,
When there's nothing I can do
To stop the pain of war
Or of starvation?
Who mourns when the innocent die
And the guilty live on?
Who mourns when a child dies,
And a criminal is set free?
Who mourns the injustice of the world?
What is life anyway.
That to live for some is to die,
That to be unwanted is not a crime,
That to be unloved is so prevailent?
Do I have the right to be granted a life
That I don't always want
When so many have been denied life
With absolutely no choice?
What is life anyway?
