First Contact: a sonnet
The stars that shine from far away do tell
A story of a trav'ler to this place
Whose rocket faltered and he simply fell
To earth both through the atmosphere and space
An alien skin of scaled deep forest green
Eyes back and front in start'ling icy blue
And body like a dragon. We have seen
A myth come back to life! I swear 'tis true.
We though he would breath out in ash and fire
So we approached his crash site steeped in fear
Communication was his one desire
And so he spoke to us when we drew near.
"Please could you find me something good to eat
And after with your leader I should meet."
