Science Lost: a sonnet

Resulting from advanced technology
We launched in space a probe without a crew
To gather all the date it could see
And send it back for earthbound to review


While it was gone our science we did lose
In fighting endless war we did dis-ban
All knowledge lost, telemetry can't use
No peoples left with mind to understand


The image sent to us from far away
Was taken as a contact from a God
A new religion did take hold that day
And no one thought earth language subtext odd


Except for science seekers who did see
A God called NASA simply could not be.
