Friendly Cove (Yuquot)

We recently took a daytrip on the MV Uchuck III from Gold River to historic Friendly Cove (Yuquot). This is the place where Captain Cook landed when he arrived on our coast. We had been wanting to go to this wonderful place for several years and were lucky to find the time and get good weather for our trip. We left Gold River at 10:00AM and arrived at Friendly Cove around 12:30PM. We had our picnic lunch on the beach which is covered with tiny smooth pebbles. We walked the trail past Jewitt Lake as far as the cabins on along the way we passed an old graveyard full of history. Our ship left at 3:00PM and with a short stop at Resolution Cove we arrived back in Gold River at approximately 5:00PM. It was a wonderful trip and we can hardly wait to go back...perhaps next summer.
