Retire to a picturesque town
in sunny Alabama

Auburn is the home of Alabama's largest university, with more than 20,000 students. The university is a catalyst for an abundance of cultural and educational programs open to Auburn area residents. Warrr Eagle! is the cry heard emanating from avid football fans.

Grand National Golf Course, on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, is one of the three local golf courses. Chewalca State Park is in Auburn and Tuskegee National Forest is located in the southwest corner of Lee County.

Opelika, which adjoins Auburn, is the Lee County seat. It boasts a 334-bed state-of-the-art hospital and medical center, which provides a complete range of professional specialties. Opelika has its own 1,200-seat performing arts center, recreational facilities with senior programs, and proximity to the fishing, boating, hunting and other sports of Lee County. Opelika is near Fort Benning, Georgia--a benefit to military retirees.

Lee County's population is 87,000. Average January temperature is 44.6; July, 77.1. The county has more than 1,600 acres of recreational facilities and regional shopping.
