a 334-bed state-of-the-art hospital and medical center, which
provides a complete range of professional specialties. Opelika has
its own 1,200-seat performing arts center, recreational facilities
with senior programs, and proximity to the fishing, boating,
hunting and other sports of Lee County. Opelika is near Fort Benning,
Georgia--a benefit to military retirees.
Lee County's population is 87,000. Average January temperature
is 44.6; July, 77.1. The county has more than 1,600 acres of
recreational facilities and regional shopping.
