Troy looked good through the first two rounds of his bout with Freshman Matt Payne of Castle Rock. At the end of the 2nd round Troy took Payne down with a double leg for an 8-3 lead. Everything looked normal with Troy in command. Then Troy started rolling around on the mat in pain. Since you can't wrestle with a broken arm, which Troy apparently got by using his left arm to brace himself on the takedown, he was done for the tournament. Not a way you want to end the year, but even so it was a great year by Troy and he still has two years left.

Mike wrestled tough against 3rd place finisher from 2005, Blayne Brandenburger of Blaine. In the end Brandenburger pinned him. Things looked good at the start against Johnson of Riverside. Mike got out to a 5-0 lead on this head and arm. Johnson took over from then on and pulled out an 11-7 win. Mike had a great year despite some health setbacks. He recorded 14 wins, 13 of them by pin.
