Kyle Hagins was on his game for the first 5:00 of the match against Omar Avelar, 2nd at state in 2006. Kyle shot only twice during the match, but managed 3 takedowns and earning a number of backpoints. He spent some of the last minute fighting off of his back to preserve the 13-7 win. Kyle is a good wrestler but needs to stay away from the big mistakes.

Troy took care of business once again for his 10th win and 7th pin of the season. Justin Hunt nearly defeated his opponent. Hunt had Lopez in a cradle with about 30 seconds to go in the match when he lost control of the cradle (he was leading 12-11) and let Lopez on top for the pin.

Travis Roos looked impressive in his varsity match with Edwards. Roos put together some good moves from the bottom position to put Edwards on his back for a pin.

Henderson nearly pulled out an OT win after coming from behind in regulation to tie Tonnemaker. Henderson has improved since last year.

Hudspeth did not give in to Jordan Thomas, currently ranked #1 in the SCAC at 171. Devon held his own in a 7-1 loss.

Rivera lost a gut wrencher to Hunt. Johnny nearly had Hunt turned with a cradle near the end of the match, which would have given him enough to win.

This was the first league dual against Royal since 1997 when the Bears drubbed them 62-9. The Bears are now 6-16 lifetime against the Knights.
