Tourney Notes:

Sergio Avila lost to Jon Limbeck 4-3 in OT in the semifinals. Sergio defeated Lmbeck 5-1 at the
John Segle Tourney.

Ale dominated the competition at 125 with 2 pins, a 12-6 win over Russ Chipman of Cashmere and a tech fall (23-8) over Connell Invite Champion, Steve Holbrook of Chelan.

Jesse DeLaPena came within 10 seconds of winning third place at 140. Jesse led Andrew Flynn of Cle Elum 6-3 and nearly took Flynn down to his back before getting caught in a head and arm with just seconds left in the match.

Corke and Corriel both ran into some tough competition and will need to pick it up another notch if they want to make it to state as freshman.

Angel Mejia lost a tough match to Burbank's Randy Dempsey but came back to win his next two matches 9-5 and 9-3 to take 4th.

Canales and Lefevre both collected 2 pins to help them to a 3rd and 5th place finish respectively.

Josh Grier wrestled an impressive tourney. He began the day by getting pinned by Othello's Johnny Martinez. Grier then proceeded to win his next three matches with a pin, a 6-2 decision and a 7-4 decision over Bert Stalder of Tonasket.

15 of the 28 championship finalists were from the CWAC. 10 of the 14 champions were from the CWAC.
