Culture Club Lyrics
As you may have noticed, Culture Club is one of my new favorite groups. They were most popular back in the early eightie's with their first two albums. Thier first album in 1982 was "Kissing To Be Clever" and their most popular was "Colour By Numbers" in '83. Boy George (real name: Goeoge O'Dowd) founded Culture club in 1981 along with Mikey Craig, Jon Moss, and Roy Hay. They called themselves Culture Club because of the varied cultures in their group. George was an Irish transvestite. Mikey was an African-American, and Roy was Caucasian. I'm not sure of Jon Moss's nationality, but he was the band's drummer. As you know, Boy was the lead singer. Mikey was on bass guitar, while Roy Hay was the lead guitarist. Jonathan Aubrey Moss was the oldest of the group, born on September 11, 1957. Michael Emile Craig's special day is February 15, 1960. Boy's birthday is June 14, 1961. And last but not last, the baby, Roy Ernest Hay was born August 12, 1961. The group had other succesful albums than the two listed at top. They are: "Waking Up With The House On Fire" (1984), "From Luxury To Heartache" (1986), and "ThisTime: The First Four Years" (1987), a compilation of the first few albums best songs. Boy George did a few solo albums also. In 1987 there was "Sold", "High Hat" in 1989, "The Martyr Mantras" in 1991, and "Cheapnes And Beauty" in 1995. There is yet another compilation album, but this one has both Culture Club and solo Boy Geoge songs on it. It's called "At Worst..The Best Of Boy George and Culture Club", from 1993. And the album I personally love "Best Of Culture Club" was made in 1991.
