Evaluation of Napoleon's Impact and his Policies
- Napoleon had both positive and negative effects on the world
- Through his conquest of countries, he spread nationalism
- Although his actions were viewed as negative by the countries surrounding France, in the end those countries developed better then they would have without French rule
- His domination of Europe brought other countries together, and boosted nationalism
- The Napoleonic code is still in use today in countries around the world
- France still uses a very similar education system, as the one Napoleon introduced
- United Germany, which later led to WWI
- He dissolved the Holy Roman Empire
- Continental system was not as effictive as planned
- Napoleon gave equality before the law to all male citizens
