The horribly named Winifrede Levering Bascombe happily has her named changed while on the run from her evil step father. Two elderly ladies take pity on her, and transform her into "Mad Jack," the daring and pitifully untrained valet.

In a nutshell, "Jack" is running from an unwanted marriage to a truly bad man, and hopes to enlist the help of her guardian. But things go terribly awry when the scheming Mathilda and Maude decide to enlist the help of their nephew, whose character they aren't quite sure about.

What results is an unusual, fun romance that is sexy, exquisitely tender, and absolutely hilarious at times.

Mad Jack is unforgettable, and her hero is distracted and sweet. Don't miss this one from Catherine Coulter.
