BILLY WALKER Pilot Great idea Jake.  However, mine was not nearly as colorful and as long as Ace's.  He is definitely a "Diamond-In-The-Rough!" I came on board in 1967 starting First Officer school in the CV-580. There was a training delay for the simulator, so they sent me to the DC-3.  Before I flew the line, I was back in the CV-580 as a F/O in DEN.  Shortly thereafter I was TDY in SLC.  They forgot about me there for nearly a year paying me per diem.  A really SUPER deal back then as our starting pay the first 6 months was just over $400 bucks a month. So, the per diem plus paid hotel was a real windfall.  When they discovered the error I had to bid a  slot and stayed in SLC until 1971 when I took a leave and went to SE Asia flying Convair 440's and North American T-28D's. I had some commuter time chasing slots to MKC, MCI, GTF and BIL too, but the most was in SLC and DEN. Back to DEN in '72 flying the CV-580 as FO, DHC-6 as captain, 737 and MD-80 as FO, 737 as captain and the last couple of years as a  MD-80 captain.  Had the unfortunate lack of judgment allowing myself to be hornswagled into the MEC job after Wes Davis retired and lost out on a lot of good flying. Since 1988 I have been with America West as an instructor, check pilot and FAA examiner on the Airbus A-320. Sincaeronautically, Billy Walker (5/24/99)
