Mike and I roomed and worked together back in DEN Central's old days. -Paul Overdier (3/18/00) I knew Mike from when we both worked for Central Airlines. I went to work for CEN as a Passenger Agent in April 1956 which was the year after High School. I got my job after going to the National School of Aeronautics in Kansas City. I took a MLOA from 1958 to 1962 to service my required hitch in the Army. It was after I got out of the Army and started back to work for Central in DEN that I met Mike Conner. We were both bachelors at the time and he was working as a relief agent out of Denver. We rented and share a duplex in north Denver at the time. From here he eventually transferred to Manhattan Kansas as a lead agent. I stayed here in Denver through the merger of Central and Frontier Airlines until 1969 when I left the airline industry and went back into the construction field. From there I finally moved to a Building Inspectors job with the City of Westminster, Co., in 1979 where I still work. After Mike moved into the General Office here in Denver for Frontier we renewed our friendship and our families grew up together sharing activities and holidays. So it was with a heavy heart that we went to his funeral a couple of weeks ago. I loved Mike like a brother and hate to see his wife and children suffer this great loss. -Paul Overdier (3/19/00) I started for Central Airlines as a Station Agent in Liberal , Kansas (LBL) in July of 1963 (almost a half-century ago). After about a year I transfered to Manhattan, Kansas (MHK) which was "back home" for us (traded the wind for the lakes - good trade). Served as a Station Agent, along with Mike Conner, Jack Daily, Sonny Chamberlain, and more that I am having trouble recalling. -Duke Ellington (3/27/06) Mike Conner, staff manager-local service division Per Nov 1977 and Nov 1978 FL Quick Reference Directories Mike Conner, staff manager-administration & local service marketing Per Dec 1979, Dec 1980 and Jan 1982 FL Quick Reference Directories Mike Conner, staff manager-sales & service administration Per Jan 1983 FL Quick Reference Directory J M CONNER Retained station agent seniority of 11 yrs 7 mos 20 days on the 1/1/86 FL/ALEA seniority list which means he went into management about Oct 1972. He is not listed on the 8/9/86 DEN personnel roster so he apparently was not a senior agent at the end. He more likely was a DEN supervisor of some type. -Jake Lamkins (7/28/08) FLacebook - FL Club DEN stations staff manager Mike Conner's memorial webpage has been updated. http://Lamkins.tripod.com/Mike_Conner.html Three items added but still need a better photo of Mike. -Jake Lamkins (3/13/15) He was a great man to work with, rest in peace. -John Ensign (3/13/15) I worked with him at CO and went to the funeral. He was a wonderful kind man. -Terri Masterson (3/16/15) I may have a good pic of Mike. Paul and I were very good friends of Mike. I'll have to do some digging through old photo albums. We have remained very close to his wife Dawn, and his kids, Heather and Shane. Any of them can help, I am quite sure. Stay tuned! -Penny Scott Overdier (4/8/15)
