Cups
Cups represent the element of Water. They are usually depicted as a gold cup or bowl. In Tarot they deal with the emotions and relationships. Cups represent the Summer season.The suit of Cups are my personal favorites in this particular Tarot deck.

The Ace of Cups
New Relationships
The Root of Power of Water, Lotus

Open your heart to the possibility of new friendships or personal relationships.
R:You may be trying to rush a relationship or may be seeing something that just isn't there.
Lotus: a symbol of purity and peace. Not only is the lotus beautiful to look at, almost every part of it has a use. It represents the blosoming of our inner beauty for all to see.







The Two of Cups
Friends
Venus in Cancer, Uva Ursi

A friend can offer you valuable advice or insight. A person you trust.
R: Incompatability or distrust. Someone who has given you bad advice or with whom you have argued.
Uva Ursi: Used to purify the body it also helps to regulate inpurities of the blood.






Three of Cups
Celebration
Mercury in Cancer, Trillium

Get out and enjoy gatherings with friends and family.
Here, in an attempt to escape from unpleasant situations you are acting in a careless and overindulgent manner.
Trillium: Is associated with birth and is often used medicinally during the birth process. (If you have ever seen a Trillium flower you know it looks like tiny celebration of life love and beauty 'born' in the most unlikly of places.)






Four of Cups
Apathy, Stagnation
Moon in Cancer, Burdock

You are looking back instead of ahead, regreting lost chances, lost loves...
R:Having looked back you now want to look for new, or previously overlooked, opportunities in your life.
Burdock: The Burdock root is good for healing, it heelps to get things flowing and to release blocks and stagnation.






Five of Cups
Regret
Mars in Scorpio, Horsetail

There is no point to feeling bad about what is done. Everyone did the best they could under the circumstances with the knowledge they had.
Look back and you will be able to learn from the mistakes that were made and to proceed with more valuable knowledge for the future.
Horsetail: helps one to see things clearer in difficult times. Medicanially it aids in relieving blockages and reducing inflamation.






Six of Cups
Reminiscence
Sun in Scorpio, Watermelon

You may have been thinking about the past or need to re-visit some part of your earlier life. Some part of the past can offer incite or relief in the present.
R:Emotional immaturity or childishness. (not to be confused with child-likeness) You may be acting in a jealous or spiteful manner or refusing to face reality.
Watermelon: is a reminder of warm summer days and childhood. Used to cool and releave it allows us to pause during the haste of life.







Seven of Cups
Imagine
Venus in Scorpio, Juniper Berries

This card is my personal favorite in this deck, if you look at it you can see the seven cups are filled with wonders and enchantment. The cups can be said to reflect the Chakras and the energies they represent.
R: This card can indicate a misuse of ones creative energies or imagination.
Juniper Berries help to calm, purify and alleviate negative energies. They have a spicy warming quality.

Saturn in Pisces, Gravel Root

You feel that something is missing from your present situation and are either contemplating a shift in position or have already done so.
R: This card indicates a lack of commitment or an inability to face or express ones emotions.
Gravel Root: Helps to allow the emotions to flow more freely.






Nine of Cups
Fulfillment
Jupiter in Pisces, Squawvine

"Having is not always so pleasing as wanting" Having wished and worked for something, you finally achieve your goal...only to find out it wasn't what you really wanted.
R: Getting what you want or are working for may take longer than you expect. Are you sure it is what you really want?
Squawvine: (Partridge berry) can help build self-confidence and a connectedness with the universe allowing one to see things more clearly






Ten of Cups
Bliss
Mars in Pisces, Cannabis sativa

Harmony, joy, achievement. You have worked hard and have learned earned love and respect. Enjoy it.
There may be some bumps or even pot-holes on the road you are traveling even though it seems to be leading where you want to go.
Cannabis sativa: OK, OK yes you're right...it's plain old Marijuana. You have to admit it certainly can produce a state of bliss...Plus they are using it for many good medicinal purposes these days, including but not limited to problems related to the eyes. (Hmmm...ones ability to see what one has accomplished???)






The court cards in the Suit of Cups represent Water signs, Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio. The various 'people represented on the cards represent people in our lives through them in the card spreads. Many times you can recognize who the people are by their description. Even though the cards usually represent a person of the same sex as the card, a Knight can also be a forceful or dynamic female and likewise a queen can be a gentle or 'feminine' male. As a rule the people would have certain characteristics or traits in common like hair color or eyes.

Communication about social events or relationships between people.
R: Lack of social engagements. People don't seem to be calling and you aren't looking for them either..
Damiana: relates to self-confidence and social attractiveness.It has been used as an aphrodisiacs. and imagination







The Knight of Cups

A man who is not afraid to work to achieve his goals,middle aged, with Blonde or light Hair, Eyes and Skin.
This person is very energetic and enthusiastic about life, not afraid to take a chance on life.
R: This person is haste and unreliable, they may even be rude or aggressive
Sarsaparilla: is used for purification of emotions and can help one to more clearly see their feelings toward others.






The Queen of Cups
Kindness
Water of Water, Lady's Mantle

A young to middle aged woman who is able to nurture and guide others. She would have Blonde or light Hair, Eyes and Skin.
This is a sensitive caring person who is insightful into matters of the heart or relationships with others, including friends and coworkers.
R: Emotions running wild. This person is a prime candidate for a sob story. Easily taken in they can't tell real feelings from false.
Lady's Mantle: Has been used to help people overcome dependencies and to take control of their emotions>






The King of Cups
Defender
Fire of Water, Saw Palmetto

An older man who is an authority figure, he would have Blonde or gray Hair, light Eyes and skin.
This person is kind of a fatherly figure. A good listener he or sheen can offer the wisdom of their good judgement R: This person lacks balance and tends to hold on to relationships that have run their course. Saw Palmetto: used in a tonic can help people with respiratory problems and weakness
