Maynard Price

At age 16 Maynard Price went to Sussex New Brunswick to enlist as he came from a small town he knew that everyone knew him and they would not accept him in the forces if he tried to enlist from his hometown.


Maynard Price again but in 1939 this time, WW2

He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1914-(lying about his age) and celebrated his 16th birthday in London England. He saw active service in France and Germany.
In 1939 he joined the Armed Forces again. He was too old for active service, so was placed in Home Guard, guarding prisoners of war in Halifax, NS, southern NB and in Arvida ,Que. While he was stationed in Halifax, he was involved in the rescue and transporting of people and equipment during the second Halifax explosion.-receiving the Citation of Bravery. His last posting was in Arvida, Que On discharge he moved his family to Tide Head, N.B.
