Prayer to St. Francis of Assisi
For Joy and Gratitude
Gentle Saint of poverty and humility, you have taught how very important it is to sing and laugh. "Spiritual Joy," you said, "is as necessary to the soul as blood to the body." I would ask you, Saint Francis, to bring more humor and lightness into my life, to lift up my soul with warmth and gaiety. Help me to realize the worship of God in my celebration of the present moment, in my laughter. Help me to express my gratitude, and through my own laughter and happiness to lift the hearts of my loved ones. Amen.
