Creation and Healing with Harmonic Sound
'In the beginning was the Word...'
The story of creation tells us, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and by (him) was all made that was made. Then came the command Let there be light... In the beginning, matter was brought into manifestation by the action of sound and light. For thousands of years, schools of enlightenment have taught seekers of inner peace to align with radiant light and harmonies of the universal sound current. The universal sound current, as we experience it, can be called full spectrum harmonic sound. Sound is the lower octave of light, and the interweaving of its wave patterns can be observed within the basic structure of matter. Let us explore the use of harmonic sound and the effect it has on the world around us through the avenues of creation and healing.
Harmonic Sound in Nature When one discovers full spectrum sound, one hears an overtone of the universal sound current which is present and acting throughout all creation. Within nature, the sounds of every frog, bird, insect, every breeze and babbling brook combine to make a harmonic overtone of the sound current. Studies have shown that when a certain animal or insect species disappears, that the ecosystem will do whatever it can to compensate and replace the missing sounds. The very fabric of our world is inherently dependent for its integrity upon the subtle and varied harmonies created by all living things. Every creature plays its unique and specialized role in creation of the unified whole.
Each creature occupies its own special envelope of sound within the vibrational fabric of our world. When a species becomes extinct, we then have a hole or gap in the coherent integrity of our soundscape. In other words, the harmonies of our planet are disrupted or disturbed with the loss of any portion of it. When dissonance occurs, it manifests as disharmony not only for individuals, but within society at large. In the microcosm of nature, loss of one sound results in dissonance, which activates in us an innate desire for harmony. Think of noisy, city streets or the roar of an airport, contrasted with restorative natural sounds, such as the wind in the trees, or the sound of water over rocks.
Dolphins and whales each have an individual signature whistle. Even human beings have a special tone or resonance to their voices, that we identify as a frequency signature. This is characterized by the tonal quality of the speaking voice. Voice prints are similar to finger prints, in that an individual can be positively identified by their unique voice pattern.
Research in the field of sound demonstrates that missing tones in the voice may weaken our physical or psychological state. Listening to full spectrum harmonic sound replaces missing tones, and stimulates healing and assimilation of nutrients, and helps produce a vibrant and balanced state of being.
What is full spectrum Harmonic Sound? In The World is Sound by Joachim-Ernst Brendt, we learn the following:
"Anyone who is familiar with the theory of harmony knows that every dissonance tends towards becoming a harmony. If it is true that the harmonic relationships in music reflect the harmonic and mathematical relationships in the planetary systems as well as in the cosmos, then this must be valid also outside music."
"Science has taught us that this phenomenon is universal. Two oscillators pulsating in the same field in almost identical rhythm will tend to lock in, with the result that eventually their vibrations will become precisely synchronous. This phenomenon is referred to as mutual phase-locking or entrainment. Entrainment is universal in nature. In fact it is so ubiquitous that we hardly notice it, as the air we breathe. It is a physical phenomenon, but it also is more than that, because it informs us about the tendency of the universe to share rhythms, that is to vibrate in harmony." Harmony is the goal of the universe.
Unified Energy Fields and the Golden Mean We have all heard harmonic sound in our environment: waves lapping the shore, a river rushing by, the wind through the treetops, frogs singing around a pond, or a group of people singing or chanting These mixed sounds in nature create a full spectrum of resonant tones, which move through the physical world in wave patterns that affect the configuration of matter. This movement of wave particles organizes to create what we call a unified energy field, or an organized intelligence.
Unified energy fields are structured according to a ratio described by the ancients as the golden mean, or golden section. This ratio of 1.618 to 1, can be identified in many structures within the natural world, such as geometric forms, energy fields, and the well formed human body, as represented in Michelangelo's sculpture, David. The overtones that are generated by full spectrum harmonic sound exhibit these same mathematical ratios of the golden mean. There is a synergy therefore among fundamental building blocks of the created world (harmonic sound, light, unified energy fields, and the mathematical ratios of the golden mean).
Within a spiral drawn according to the golden mean, triangles, squares and pentagrams can be perfectly connected. Adding to these basic geometric units, we construct more complex forms, such as the dodecahedron, which is the pattern for DNA, the fundamental structure of the building blocks of life. So harmonic sound (the lower octave of light) creates a unified energy field, an organized intelligence, which is a key to understanding the nature of matter and movement of energy within our world.
Sound and Healing Ourselves and the Earth Depression and other illnesses can result simply from depriving the skin and optic nerve of exposure to full spectrum daylight; and plants require the full spectrum of light in order to grow and produce fertile seeds. Research also reveals that life systems on our planet, and even the planet itself, require consistent exposure to full spectrum sound to maintain vitality and equilibrium.
Elull spectrum harmonies, produced by various means, such as Tibetan Bowls, a group of people chanting, and the sound of a Wind Harp, assist in restoring wholeness to the energy fields of the earth and all of life. Harmonics of full spectrum sound 'fill the gaps' where frequencies are missing, and strengthen the thin membrane of atmosphere and topsoil that sustains all life at the Earth's crust. Sound is a magical and ancient resource, available to us in this dimension for healing and integration with the world that surrounds us.
The time is very near when sound and light will play essential roles in technologies used for healing tumors, for removing bacteria and viruses, and for restoring balance and encouraging regenerative conditions. Many are already using harmonic sound as a tool to restore body, mind, spirit and environmental well being. Harmonic sound will play a major role in healing ourselves and our planet, as we move ahead into the new millennium.
