The Court of King Siegfried and Queen Hella
At Asgardian Frolic, April 24, 1999
The ladies and gentlemen of Uberheim were called the court of their Majesties by Heimdall, acting as Herald. In place of Thor, Viscount Sir Rudiger stood guard.
King Siegfried opened the court with a greeting to his subjects, and praise for Lady Skadi for her outstanding event. His Majesty commended Lady Skadi for her efforts, and encouraged future autocrats to look to her as a role-model. King Siegfried also praised Ulic for his geneousity in allowing Uberheim to have the event at his fine hall.
The first order of business was the presentation of the candidate for the role of the dwarf Alberich. He was brought forth and duly recognized as such, as was the candidate for the RhineMaiden Flosshilde. Lady Flosshilde was acknowledged as the first RhineMaiden of Uberheim.
The next order of business was brought by Lady Skadi. She presented awards to the victors of the day's competitions. Eric Strongbow received a beautiful print for his prowess on the list field, as did King Siegfried for his victory in the Archery Competition. Next, Sir Rudiger received a gift for his triumph in the wrestling ring, then he, Marius and Lord Tyr were granted prizes for their excellence in the Jeopardy competition. Lady Skadi acknowledged all her helpers, especially Oona, the Fairy Archduchess of the Enchanted Realms, and abjured everyone to help keep the site clean.
Next King Siegfried made a solemn announcement. He reminded everyone of the fun they'd had that day, and said that he wanted Uberheim to be about having a good time and not about politics. He announced that to this end the High Council had been dissolved and the Corporate Board suspended, and that all ruling power and control of the Kingdom had reverted to his hands until further notice. This was greeted with cheers of approval from the crowd.
The next order of Business was brought by Saga. She told the assembly of the prospective newsletter, and asked for submissions of event announcements, stories, poetry, artwork and articles to put in it. Submissions for the following month's newletter must be received by Saga no later than the 15th of the previous month, so for the prospective June issue, submissions must be sent in to her by May 15.
The Beltane Event on May 1 was announced next, and fliers were made available.
Odin, Allfather was next. He first called Baldr into court to be recognized by the assembled crowd as the Ascended God. Then, he called forth Lord Uller, and presented him as a GIT, his next step on the journey to godhood.
There being no further business before the King and Queen, the court was closed.
