The Mavica creates incredible red eyes as the picture above shows. You have to edit the photo preferable with Photoshop, however, I was quite satisfied with the much simpler Ulead iPhoto Express, which here in Sweden comes with the camera without extra cost. In the adjustment section, the red eye funcion after certain tweaking will give acceptable improvement. The result will be much better if you know the original color of the eyes. Blue and green eyes are easier to restore as brown ones. It is interesting the sharp shadow around the person standing near a vertical surface. A slave flash is recommended. The above pictures were made in "fine" mode 6m distance and tele. Will test other tricks (i.e. prism before the flash which would force ca. 1/4 of the light up to the ceiling) as the simple, but genial "tape on the flash" method proposed on the Mavica discussion page.
