THE POOR GIRLS TOURNAMENT 2000

Mary Savage, former owner of Harbor Lights and Sussex House Restaurant of Dagsboro, DE gets ready in the fighting chair!

Opps, what happened, Mary?

Your's truly, webmaster & "real person" on the other end of Human Click, in the chair. Amanda Steen, (former mayor of Dagsboro and Amanda of "Amanda's Catering") and Sherri Sharp (beautiful single pharmacist babe) look on.

Just by Jack placing a rod and reel in her hands, Beautiful Babe, turns into "Pitbull Sharp!" Amanda notices the transformation!

Wow! Look at her go!

The day started out sloppy. The boat was rolling pretty good. We fished the "Sausages", thinking any further out, looked dangerous for this crew of anglers. Almost lost Mary over the side twice.
(We need to get that women some velcro shorts!)
The day turned nice. The wind dropped out in the afternoon and the seas layed down a bit. The sun came out. We had the pleasure of watching "Pitbull Sharp" swing into action! Never have I seen anyone male or female fight a fish with the fervor and determination of this women! We ended up bringing in 2 (between 30 & 40 lbs) Yellowfin. We didn't bother to weigh them, figuring, they were too small to win a tournament. When we got to the dock, the boat beside us, said, that we should have, because not many fish were brought in. (By tourney rules, all boats have to troll, and chunking has been the way to go lately) They said that a lot of boats got skunked. We looked at our watch. Only 30 minutes to make it through Ocean City traffic and over to Bahia. Load the fish up in the truck! Wait a minute........ Let's call. Bahia says that the catches were low, hold on,......... they are weighing one now, from a boat that went out to the Gulf Stream.......it's a...... 187lb Tuna. One hundred and eighty seven pound Tuna! Wow, what a fish! A forty pounder feels like a refrigerator to me! I'd hate to tangle with the women that pulled it in!
