Dr.Julian Bashir was lounging negligently over his medical console, tapping into a few buttons every so often.  He studied the figures on the screen in front of him and nodded with satisfaction, transferring the information onto his PADD.

"Julian?"

His head shot up and he looked over his shoulder.  A smile fell onto his lips, "Jadzia."

The Chief Science Officer grinned at him.  "When you didn't show up, I figured you once again got caught up in your work."  She came behind him and glanced at the screen over his shoulder.  "Hmm,I guess you got what you were looking for, huh?"

He nodded, "Yep.  I thought I was keeping a good track of time.  Sorry," he said apologetically.

"Don't be," she assured him.  "Shall we?"

He offered his arm and she linked hers through it.  "Jabara?" he called out.

The Bajoran nurse stuck her head out from behind a wall.  "Yes, Doctor?"

"Would you please close up for me?  I'm going out to dinner with Commander Dax."

The nurse nodded and smiled.  "Of course, Doctor.  Have a good time," with that, she disappeared again behind the wall.

Julian glanced back at his companion, "Ready?"

She graced him with an adoring look.  "Lead the way."

His heart swelling with love, the good doctor walked out the doors of his Infirmary towards Quark's.  How long had it taken for him to finally win the amazing Jadzia Dax's attention? Much less her affection?  He had gone a long way, and he'd gone through a lot of things.  He could probably remember all the times they'd shared heartfelt conversation or their most major moments.  But with the beautiful Trill on his arm, gazing tenderly at him, he had a feeling it was only the beginning of the journey to her heart.

"Y-yes."

"Then I suppose we'd better get acquainted.  I'm Jadzia Dax."

"J-Julian B-Bashir."

"Believe me, Julian, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"That's preposterous!  And if you start chasing after me again..."

"Don't worry Jadzia, now I know that you liked it, I don't need to, do I?"
