Case files: Or Mysteries: the road to looooove :)

Well, what can I say about this story?? First off, it took me close to 2 days to read because it's so darn long... But believe me, it's worth the time.

When Mulder and Scully are asked to assist the NYPD capture a dangerous, psychotic, elsusive serial killer, ansgt abounds as emotions heighten.  Can Mulder and Scully overcome their wariness of each other and be together... or will Mulder go too far getting inside the mind of a killer?

This story had me absolutely mezmerized from start to finish.  I think anyone that's ever read a good mystery/romance novel knows what I'm talking about.  Not only were Mulder and Scully's characterizations right on the money (if not better than the show in some parts), but the newly introduced characters were wonderful as well.  Not to mention that this is one of the most highly developed, well played out "serial killer" plots in the fanfic genre. Definitely worth the reading time.

I absolutely love this story for not only its great storytelling and plot development, but for some of the best Scully characterization you will ever read.  The way this one unfolds is not overtly X Files-ish, but it's an extremely intriguing mystery that keeps you guessing to the end. I also love the MSR in here.  The slow, gradual climb of the relationship only adds terrific dimensions to this already wonderful, multi-dimensional story.

Warning, another looooong story here.  Just think of it this way... everyone needs SOMETHING to read over the summer hiatus, right?

Mulder and Scully travel to investigate some strange goings on in a small town. Is Red Mountain haunted?  Meanwhile, Scully fights to come to grips with the idea that her relationship with Mulder has to end. Is this the end for them?

First of all, the title of this story intrigued me.  What a strange name, I thought.  So of course, I had to read it to figure out just what the heck a "Lucky Lizzy" was. Well, let me say that I am SOO glad that I did. Why?  Well, this is just one of the best ghost stories around, that's all.  Analise uses classic "Skeptic" Scully mixed with "Believer" Mulder with a twist.  Because here, the skeptic/believer roles bleed into the relationship and it works brillianly.  A Spectacular read for anyone looking for an absolutely wonderful story.

Lesser Evils By Hannah Mason

Mulder has always known that he wanted Scully... he just never thought it was possible that someone could want her just as badly....for his own purposes... Mulder was wrong... dead wrong.

Ok, before I get into what I liked about this story, a word of warning here:  This is a "Scully Kidnapped" story with some violence mixed in.  While it may not be for everyone, it IS a breathtaking piece of work and here's why:

The mystery here is EXCELLENT.  This story is a constant guessing game of "whodunnit" and the end is a terrific twist.  Not to mention we have Mulder piecing together the puzzle in classic "Mulder/style," and the portrayal of his angst/vs his need to stay focused and catch the bad guy.  This story is a wonderful, haunting mystery, and of course, we're all rooting for Scully...

Haunted Moon By Stephanie Kaiser

Mulder and Scully run into a little trouble while seeking refuge in an old house... under a haunted moon...

Ok, so I couldn't resist the "haunted house" story. I just HAD to read it when I saw the title and guess what?  This story is incredible.  Not just because of the plot, which I really liked, but because the dialogue and interplay between Mulder and Scully is so very true to the show.  Here we have some wonderful MSR, haunted goings on, and terrific bantering and writing that makes this story seem a lot like an episode of the show.  Oh, if only Chris Carter would write like this fanfic...
