The first endeavor of a home page

kozmic.JPG (10239 bytes)

My first attempt at a web page was a home page on the late & great Janis Joplin.

I teamed up on this with a 16 year old girl, Anna from Chicago, and as it's now turned out,

our first web page endeavor has now become the largest site on the web on Janis.

Consisting of documentation, photos, sound files and even a section where art can be

presented by fans, my work as well as page titles & art through the site can be found here.

As this was done solely as a hobby, we were quite surprised to be informed that we had won

The Legacy of Legends Award for best new web site of the year.

This can be found in our UPDATE section.

The most fascinating thing to my mind was that up until this time, I had never been on

a computer or the internet. What became a Can-Am collaboration evolved into a strong friendship

between two people who, although have never met, have become not only co-workers,

but best of friends as well!

Monsters, Maiden & Mayhem

webrickinsert.jpg (22053 bytes)

http://www.majormattmason.net/auroracollecto/rick.htm

This is the site of a friend I met while on the Aurora one list.

The list consists of folks like myself that had a love for the old monster models

created by Aurora in the 60's. As many of the subscribers have put up web pages

to display their work, Rick attempted to photograph his kits as well and put them on-line.

His results were a little too dark and slightly out of focus photos on a white table cloth.

(Not too scary for a monster site!)

I took a photo and attempt to clean it up. I started with cropping the image off the background,

and with contrast and sharpness, until I was satisfied with the image.Having removed the

background, I created a new one and in a cut and paste approach repositioned the  image in

PhotoShop. I then sent this to Rick stated if he liked it, I'd be happy to do the site. Since I've

been working on it ever since, I can genuinely say that it met with his approval.

The site has now become a popular spot on the net with regular visitors requesting more

work weekly, and I thoroughly enjoy Rick's anticipation as he constantly checks in and feeds

back his comments every time I start to re-image a new batch of photos.

On-line Greeting Card Contract for Cool Entertainment

http://www.coolent.com

This was a contact I received to do 85 on-line greeting cards, 34 of which were to be animated.

As yet, they are not yet on the web, but will appear at the above link in the near future.

A glimpse of some of this work can been seen in the card section of this portfolio.
