of two Lighning goals in Tampa Bay's
7-2
loss to the Dallas Stars Monday night.

Lecavalier scored two goals
and added an assist in Tampa Bay's
5-4 exhibition win against the
Florida Panthers on Saturday.
But the 18-year old is not yet
under contract. "I'm just playing
hockey and having fun," he told
The Tampa Tribune. "I love winning.
The whole team loves winning
and that's what we are doing." Lecavalier
has eight points (three goals)
in six games this preseason.

Lecavalier may sign with the
Lightning as early as Monday.
"We're going to talk again (Monday)
morning and if we get
far enough, I may not go to
Dallas," general manager Phil
Esposito told The Tampa Tribune.
Still to be worked out in
the three-year deal is the structure
of performance and reward
bonuses. The two sides have
agreed on salary ($975,000 per year),
but Esposito is trying to keep
the bonus payout between $2.5 million
and $3 million while agent Bob
Sauve is pushing for approximately
$4 million in potential bonus
money.
