ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Here's the concept: MTV's ``Real World'' meets a Backstreet Boys-type singing group for a new TV show
about the boys' struggles for fame and love.
The scenario sounded so tempting that ABC Entertainment decided to produce such a show in Orlando next month.
The half-hour series, tentatively titled ``O-town,'' will follow the making of a male singing group. TV cameras will document
auditions, selection of the five band members, the songwriting process and preparation for a live performance.
The group will be guided by Trans Continental Records President Lou Pearlman, the boy band guru who has guided the Backstreet
Boys and N'Sync to chart-topping fame.
MTV Productions will produce the show in association with Bunim/Murray Productions. Production is expected to wrap up by
February.
