Repeating a successful strategy, Backstreet Boys will put all tickets for
their February and March tour on sale on one day. LiveDaily has confirmed that 19 cities are on
the group's upcoming itinerary, and tickets for all shows are scheduled to go on sale Saturday
(12/11).
LiveDaily has also confirmed that four new cities have been
added to the group's itinerary since the band first announced new
dates via its official website: Greensboro, N.C., East Lansing,
Mich., Hamilton, Ont., and Toronto.
When tickets for the ''Millennium'' tour went on sale in August, the
group's legion of young fans snapped up all 765,000 tickets in a
matter of hours, prompting additional shows in many markets and
shattering a number of box-office records.
Backstreet Boys, who played arenas during the 1999 leg of their
tour, are booked into some much larger venues this time around.
The Louisiana Superdome, for instance, can hold a crowd of
close to 75,000.
The group concluded the 1999 leg of its tour last weekend with a
pair of make-up dates at the National Car Rental Center near Ft.
Lauderdale, Fla. Those concerts, which were originally scheduled
to open the North American tour on Sept. 14, were postponed
because of Hurricane Floyd.
The group has announced plans to use to use Tickets.com's
services to auction an expected 1,000 tickets for the upcoming
tour, with profits earmarked for as-yet-unnamed charity groups.
Tickets for all shows on sale Saturday, Dec. 11.
