I am not sure that I know who is who, but my best guess is in the Back Row are from left to right: Jennette, Effie and Bertha. Middle Row: Frank, Jr. and Joseph. The Stith-Mason Family Reunion was first started in the 1970s. The first reunion was held in Low Ground, Jarratt, Virginia on the family farm of Richard Jackson Stith. Since that time it has been held approximately every 2 years in various east coast cities.

The 2007 reunion was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel-Fort MacGruder in Williamsburg, VA so that we might participate in the 400th anniversary of America and to celebrate us, the descendants of Susan Goodwyn Stith Mason.

10/1/2007- The 2007 Stith Mason Family Reunion was a huge success with approximately 160 family members in attendance.

The 2009 Stith Mason Family Reunion!

Rocky Gap is a self-contained resort featuring a number of amenities. Additional details are enclosed. If you have access to a computer, I would encourage you to go the resort website at www.rockygapresort.com to take a virtual tour of the facilities.

ACCOMMODATIONS-Hotel rooms were reserved. The room rate was/is $150 per night plus tax. These rates represent an increase over the cost of the last reunion, however finding venues that offered both lodging and banquets rates for less were difficult to locate. Because there was an interest in having the reunion in New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, hotels were investigated in these cities. The rates were much higher.

Please reserve your rooms by calling Rocky Gap Resort and referencing the Stith Mason Family Reunion. The ROOM RESERVATION DEADLINE was 6/15/2009!

MEALS-There will be a banquet on Saturday evening and a breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning. The dinner cost will be $53/person and breakfast cost will be $26/person for ADULTS. For CHILDREN, AGES 3-12, the dinner cost will be $26.50/person and breakfast will be $12.00/person. Children under the age of 3 are FREE.. Menus will be available for those who have special dietary needs.

SEED MONEY-Seed money is used to cover reunion expenses such as mailings, supplies and entertainment at the reunion. Seed money is NOT optional. All families attending the reunion must pay seed money. Discounts were offered to those who paid early.

6/18/2009-IMPORTANT UPDATE! The deadline for the remittance of seed and meal monies was 2/1/2009. This deadline was established because a significant payment was due to the reunion venue, Rocky Gap Resort by 3/1/2009. We are proud to announce that we met that deadline. The Reunion Committee is urging those who plan to attend the reunion but have not yet remitted their money to please do so as soon as possible. The uncertain economic times may not allow you to pay your reunion monies in full at this time. If this is the case, please email Kerry Stith, reunion chairperson, to make alternate payment arrangements. Thank you. The NEXT HUGE and CRITICAL deadline was 6/15/2009! This was the deadline for remitting ALL seed, meal and T-shirt monies, as well as for making your room reservations. After 6/15/2009, the rooms will be placed back into the hotel's inventory. Hotel rooms should be available after this date, but we cannot guarantee this. Please make your reservations ASAP! Again when calling, reference the Stith-Mason Family Reunion room block.

REUNION PACKET/NEWSLETTER- A reunion packet was mailed in May. Included was information about the cost and available sizes of T-shirts, as well as, directions, etc. Below is a link to the reunion packet. The packet information is in PDF format. You may need to install the free version of Adobe Acrobat.

COMMUNICATION VIA EMAIL-In order to keep postage costs to a minimum, the committee encourages as many family members as possible to accept reunion information via email. If you have an email address that you check on a regular basis, please send it to Kerry Stith.

We also realize that we do not have mailing or email addresses for all family members. If there is anyone that you know who wishes to attend, but has not received reunion information, please contact the reunion committee with their names and addresses. The reunion committee is also available to answer any questions that you might have. IT'S STILL NOT TOO LATE TO SEND IN THE MONIES FOR THE REUNION! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING, PLEASE CONTACT KERRY OR ONE OF THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS.
