The Biography of the High Priestess
of the Temple of the Moutain Headlands

(Try saying that five times fast...)

Linna Yamazaki was born in the year AD2012 near Tokyo, the capitol of Japan. Her childhood went well enough and she spent her time pursuing a career in dance that included competing in pageants and taking martial arts classes to perfect her already phenomenal skills. However, at the age of thirteen, the Second Great Kanto Earthquake crushed Tokyo, leaving Linna's home in ruins. Neither she nor her parents were long deterred, though, and they went on with their lives.

Two years later, after the GENOM SuperConglomerate had supposedly 'saved' Tokyo, now called Mega Tokyo, from total destruction, proof that GENOM was crooked became painfully clear as rampaging by Boomers, the android creations of Katsuhito Stingray, Sylia's father, ran wild through the city, killing many civilians and wiping out whole police units. In AD2027 Linna Yamazaki's parents were among the casualties suffered during one of these all too common rampages.

Linna, an optimistic person by nature, picked herself up from what could have been her downfall and went on with her life even though she was the only one left of her family. She did not grow bitter or enraged like Sylia or Priss; rather, she continued with her greatest love: Dance. Linna still went to auditions and was soon named the All Raisin Princess. She was ecstatic. It seemed as though her dream of becoming a world-renowned performer and entertainer would come true. But that was not to be.

At the age of nineteen, Linna went to her final competition. Quite a few talented young dancers arrived to test their skills before a panel of very harsh judges, among which was none other than Sylia Stingray. Linna danced for all she was worth, her body taken over by the music. With all the passion she had, she displayed an array of skills unmatched among the other dancers.

The judges were not impressed.

Linna lost the audition and for once in her life was devastated. She had nothing. Not a job, not a potential career as a dancer, not her parents, not anyone or anything. Collapsing to her knees, Linna watched as the other girls were told whether or not they would be in the troupe. Just as her world crumbled, Linna looked up to see one of the judges standing before her. The woman removed her sunglasses and smiled at Linna, introducing herself as Sylia Stingray and simultaneously offering Linna a job where her talents would be very appreciated.
