"What's Wrong?"

There is so much sadness all around.

Not many smiles can be found.

What's wrong with our world of today?

Even our children have forgotten how to play!

Such violence is coming from our children in teens;

To be popular, is to have "colors", join a gang and be mean.

When I went to school we believed in having fun.

Now, in school is dangerous, - it's drugs, knives and real guns!

What's wrong with our world of today?

Our children are not like us in "our day".

We always had our moms to come to after school.

Children now think "Hanging Out" is what they're to do.

Both parents work so there's no one at home;

So they have idle time on their hands and places to roam.

Mom always had snacks after school for me;

Our children have a remote control for their TV.

What's wrong with our world of today?

There are no important values in our children today!

Stop! Right where you are and take a look around.

You have children having children and faces with frowns.

There's so much hate and anger in our teens today.

What's wrong with our world of today?

Parents aren't respected as parents of times ago;

Our teenagers don't stay home, they're always on the go!

Why all the drugs, sex and violence?

The turmoil and confusion just don't make sense!

Someone please open these tearful eyes;

Make our government stop telling lies!

Please rescue us from being taxed upon tax.

Stop this roller coaster and let everyone relax!

Teachers aren't teaching the golden rule;

They don't even care if the children go to school!

What's wrong with this world of today?

There's hate and bombings all around.

Isn't there any love to be found?

Pollutions of our waters and air are everywhere.

When will there be anyone who really cares?

Starvation and diseases everywhere you look;

People that are homeless and have no where to cook!

Brother turning against brother, just like the "Good Book" did say.

Tell me.......What's wrong with our world of today????

"A Story"

Is it murder or suicide?

Let me tell the story and you decide.

So many hungry mouths to feed.

Nations crying for peace; they do plead.

Children with empty looks in their eyes,

Lying awake with hunger pains, they cry!

This costs money and that does too;

Stocks keep falling; what's a person to do?

Children killed in drive by shootings.

There's got to be a stop to all this undoing!

The government turns a deaf ear to us.

You have to be careful, just who you can trust.

At a graveside, a mother and father cry;

For their crack, overdosed child they ask, "Why"?

The count goes up in teen arrests.

Another person fails an HIV test!

A derelict wonders what his life is for.

He doesn't have anyone and sleeps on the floor.

Someone's found dead in the alley on his side.

Now, you tell me,

"Is this murder or suicide?"

"Nemesis"

I wish I could fly and be as free as the wind;

But I know that's impossible for I'm just human.

Daily I find I'm wishing my life away;

Wishing I was somewhere else or it be a different day!

My soul is uneasy and my heart is not at rest.

I'm always searching adn not knowing what is best.

So forlorn, empty and down I feel.

All this kaos just cannot be real!

I've always wanted to be just me;

Not a shell of a person wishing to be free.

I want to be alive and not wish away the time.

Not working but being mom and wife, would suit me fine!

Being a real grandmother would be what I wish.

Tending to things at home could be my nemesis.

Oh, I wounldn't mind at all if all this I could do;

For I would be really happy, and life would have meaning too!!

AND HE LOVES YOU!

"Bygones"

Ignoring problems won't get you very far.

They should be met and dealt with before,

they fester and scar.

Pretending it's not there is not the answer;

For soon you'll feel trapped and a prisoner.

Face your problems, from the start - Head on!

And you'll see very quickly they'll bcome bygones!
