Basaraba Invited to training camp

By Barry Scanlon- Lowell Sun

A face familiar to area hockey fans has been invited to the inaugural camp of the Lowell
Lock Monsters.

Shannon Basaraba, who this spring completed a fine four-year career at UMass Lowell, will
look to impress coach Frank Anzalone and his staff.

Basaraba, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound forward from International Falls, Minn., is blessed with
outstanding speed. Although not a prolific scorer -- he scored 95 points in 142 games --
Basaraba improved every year he wore a River Hawk jersey. He scored 18 points as a
freshman, 22 as a sophomore, 26 as a junior and 29 as a senior.
