The Beast of New Haven (Carolina/Florida) travel to Lowell to
play the
Lock Monsters at 7:30 on Saturday night.
The Beast of New Haven lost on opening night to division rival
Hartford (New York Rangers). The Beast got goals from Marik
Malik, Scott Levins and Craig Ferguson. Chris Allen and Ryan
Johnson each had 2 assists. Mike Fountain was the losing
goaltender, he made 30 saves in the loss.
The Lock Monsters made a successful debut on Friday night winning
their franchise debut behind 34 saves from Marcel Cousineau. The

The game marked the successful return to the AHL for Lowell coach
Frank Anzalone. The Lock Monsters played a solid defensive, hard
working brand of hockey and looked quite impressive for most of
the night.
Mark Lawerence will go down in the books as scoring the first
goal in team history, scoring at 7:49 of the 1st with assists
from Dean Malkoc and Mike Gaul. Lawerence also got the first
minor penalty after being whistled off for holding by referee
Brad Watson.
The Monsters got goals from Lawerence (2), Vladimir Orzsagh, Dane
Jackson and Sean Haggerty. Haggerty had the first power-play
goal.

Roster Changes:
Look for F Nic Beaudoin and D/LW Mark Mader to possibly be
re-assigned. They appear on the opening night roster but did not
