Date: 10/16/98 Location: Portland, ME (Cumberland County Civic Center) Time: 7:30pm Season Series: 1-0-0 in favor of Lowell Last Meeting: 10/9/98 LOW 5 POR 4 https://members.tripod.com/~LockMonsters/game01.html Team Records: Portland (WSH/CHI) 0-2-0 Lowell (NYI) 1-1-0 Game Notes: Tonights game is the home opener for the Pirates, who are in their 6th season of existance. The Lock Monsters play their first road game in franchise history. The Lock Monsters will look to defeat division rival Portland for the 2nd straight game. Portland has struggled in the early going this year. They dropped the opener in Lowell and then lost the following night in Saint John, NB against the Flames. The Lock Monsters are coming off a disappointing showing against the Beast of New Haven. Coach Frank Anzalone had the team working very hard all week as he was disappointed in the effort his team gave last weekend. Coach Anzalone expects a hard-fought defensive style to be played so look for that to happen now that the team has had a little more time to gel as a group.
