Game Preview:
The Lock Monsters look to continue their early season dominance over
the struggling Portland Pirates. The Monsters have won the first two
games, totallt dominating and outplaying Portland on the 16th. The
Pirates have been struggling in the early going, getting very few
breaks and being decimated by call-ups to Washington.
The Lock Monsters fell 3-2 in Springfield while Portland was shutout
at home by division leading Saint John. The Pirates only win was at
Albany 4-3 in a game that they had a 4-1 lead in.
The Pirates will be wearing special Halloween sweaters tonight that
will be auctioned off after the game for charity. The Lock Monsters
will be wearing their home sweaters.
The two teams meet again on November 8 in Lowell at 5:05 pm ET.

Notes:
The Washington Capitals have loaned Portland goaltender Martin Brochu
to Utah of the International Hockey League. The move leaves Mike
Rosati and Sebastien Charpentier as goaltenders in Portland.
The Pirates also added Craig Mills from Chicago of the IHL and Denis
Cheryvakov from the East Coast League. Denfensemen Stewart Malgunas
and Nolan Baumgartner are recent call-ups to Washington.
The Lock Monsters lost Mark Lawerence to the New York Islanders this
week.
