The History of Nothville

And here's what a lot of you have been waiting for...the History of Nothville!!! This really isn't such a big deal, and in fact, it took absolutely no creativity on my part. All I did was take notes on the creation of the town dedicated to, and obsessed with, Chris Noth. Pay close attention, there may be a test later...

Nothville was founded on December 26, 1997. That was the day I wrote my first post on the Law & Order Net Forum. I signed it, "Loganette, The Plaid Princess of Nothville." And so it began...

Gradually, as I posted more regularly, people started to mention that they lived in Nothville. I was utterly surprised that a few of them even asked to move in...

Of course, I said YES!!! Many flocked to my door, each with a particular position (no pun intended, all you people with dirty minds out there ) they wished to fill. Amongst them, Jenna wanted to be a part of McCoy county, which she founded in February.

And then, horror of horrors, the inevitable happened. This peaceful realm was suddenly a place of chaos. Early February 5, BlacKatt took control of Nothville. And a sinister villain by the name of RedDeath waged war against my little creation. All of this happened during my classes at college. Imagine my surprise to find my tiny nation not only under the control of a Katt, but at war with an Edgar Allen Poe nut!!!

Immediately I took it upon myself to address both problems. BlacKatt was nice enough to step down, though she admitted that she liked playing in Nothville. I invited her to stay, but she politely refused. She did, however, accept my offer of ruling a neighboring land. Since then, she's been the Queen of the 100 Acre Wood.

In any case, BlacKatt and I decided to join forces to battle the evil RedDeath who had threatened to "plague" Nothville...

On February 6, after a slew of posts back and forth, an official temporary cease fire was put into affect by me, due to the fact that I'd be away for the weekend.

On February 9, I came back to a surprise. Many...MANY posts against Nothville. Amongst the things that were said, "Silly," "childish," and "not related to L&O," seemed to dominate them. I was told to "go back to the sandbox if I wanted to play." Hmmmmmm...a little hurt by the harsh words and large number of objections, I respectfully apologized. Since then, the only reference to Nothville is in my signature at the end of my posts. Meanwhile, the Net Forum has gone back to fighting, name-calling, and cursing each other out for the most part. And to think that I was acting childish...

*** Special thanks to my followers, especially Blueline, the Sheriff of McCoy County, who was the first to come to my aid. She restored peace for a short while during the battle by providing refreshments to all those involved. The rest of Nothville provided much support during these troubled times, and I greatly appreciate it. Thank you all!!! ***

As for Nothville, it now has it's very own little corner of the 'Net. Yes, it's silly. Yes, it's a bit obsessive. But it's all in the name of fun though, and should Chris Noth ever come upon it in his wanderings, I hope he gets a good chuckle out of it.
