"Nick, I'm telling Manda tonight. We leave in 3 weeks and I'm not going to spend a moment of that time fighting with her because I didn't tell her." "Brian, no please," Nick pleaded, "I don't want to go, I don't want to leave her." "Nick you are acting like a child, you have to go, and you have to tell her. So you better do it tonight because once I tell Manda you aren't going to get the chance." Nick was about to say something but decided against, instead he went outside and sat on the porch. He glanced over next door and saw Amanda in the driveway washing her jeep. She had the radio on and When the Lights Go Out By Five was playing. He watched her as she danced around singing, and washing. He wanted to laugh, but at the same time he wanted to cry. It was little things like this that he was going to miss so bad. He buried his head in his hands and began to cry quietly. He didn't notice Amanda was standing there until it was to late. He brought his head up to wipe his tears and there she was. Startled he tried to make up and excuse but she knew it was a lie. "Nick, what's wrong?" she asked taking his hand and sitting next to him. He took a deep breath, "Amanda I have something I have to tell you."
Inside Brian was getting dressed for dinner. Howie came running in the room, "Brian how is this outfit?" "D it looks fine just like the 5 before it. Will you relax, it's just a date." "Brian, you can talk like that because you don't have to worry about making a fool of yourself. You have a girlfriend and she already knows what a fool you are." "Ohh, Gee thanks." "You know what I mean, Manda loves you, you don't need to impress her. Stephanie doesn't know me, and I don't know her." "Howie I understand, just calm down and be yourself, that's all I can tell you." Howie nodded, "I know I'm just nervous. Man these pants make my butt look huge I gotta change." Howie ran out of the room and Brian rolled his eyes.
