Responsibilities include:

  • Writing and editing of various communications for both the Fortune 100 enterprise and the technology department of 1200 employees across five sites in NY, NJ, NV and GA.

  • Management of the department’s annual report involving information gathering from executives and other senior managers, the writing and editing of summaries of yearly accomplishments, and the production of the report.

THG Worldwide (ICM Conferences and IMR Forums), New York, NY
Director, Telecommunications and Information Technology, 1998-1999

Responsibilities include intensive deadline-driven research and development in the area of emerging technologies requiring direct correspondence and in-depth interviews with Fortune 1000 executives. Subsequently, nation-wide business executive telecommunications, information systems, Internet and multi-media technology industry conferences are produced. Incumbent of the position are strategic negotiations with national industry and media associations for multi-media partnerships and Fortune 1000 corporations for sponsorship. Duties also require production of new product lines including large-scale multi-track events with nine month production schedules, budgets of a quarter of a million and projected revenue of one to three million per event.

First year gross revenue from four three-day events: $1.5 million. An additional $4 million has been generated by The eBusiness Summit, which I conceptualized, branded and initiated production.

HomeNET in Miami, December 1-3, 1999, Miami, FL:

  • Microsoft takes the lead sponsorship for a second time within six months.
  • Topping its predecessor, Miami is bringing together over 60 corporate executives to speak and preside.
  • Media partnerships have been forged with 27 organizations, doubling the prior count.

The eBusiness Summit, August 23-26, 1999, Keystone, CO and March 5-7, 2000, San Diego, CA:

  • Initiated recruitment of 250 corporate executives, distinguished in management, finance or applying technology and formulated an innovative meeting structure facilitating the strategic alignment of IT for corporate eBusiness.
  • Resulting revenue is $3,747,385 from 201 sponsors for the first two events. A subsequent scheduled event (August 2000) has already generated another half a million dollars with only 30 sponsors.
  • Programmed the HTML and designed website for the event: www.thgny.com, significantly contributing to the closing of sponsorship contracts.

Next Generation OSS, September 22-24, 1999, Chicago, IL:

  • Compared to all other OSS industry events, Next Generation OSS presented 20% more case study presentations from 19 service providers practitioners.
  • The conference grossed $515,00 ($288,000 delegate revenue and $226,000 in sponsorship).

HomeNET '99, July 27-29, 1999, San Francisco, CA:

  • Generated $622,661 gross revenue ($278,964 sales, $215,007 marketing, $133,390 sponsorship).
  • Before HomeNET Microsoft had never taken the lead sponsorship of any ICM program.
  • Based on a co-developed Internet and e-mail marketing strategy, HomeNET achieved an unprecedented 8,213% ROI (not a mistake- $215,007 based on a budget of $2,618) and 107 delegates, compared to the average 200% ROI and 2-3 delegates generated by marketing on all other programs (ICM operates in 41 countries from 14 offices and in 1998 alone over 40,000 delegates attended a cumulative 720 ICM conferences with 11,500 speakers).
  • HomeNET '99 brought together an unprecedented cross section of 50 executives from 46 different corporations to discuss emerging technologies and business strategies for the emerging residential technology market. Forged media partnerships with an unprece dented 12 organizations.

Enterprise Data Warehousing, April 27-30, 1999, San Francisco, CA:

  • Generated $207,196 gross revenue ($67,196 sales, $140,00 sponsorship).
  • Prior to EDW Microsoft had never sponsored any of the 200+ annual North American programs.
  • With 18 case studies and no speaker expenditures ($0) EDW presented twice as many practitioner presentations then any other event on the market.
  • Outstanding delegate evaluations for the production of an event focusing on the #1 issue for IT managers as surveyed by Information Week (01/11/99).

Data Quality Management Summit, October 19-22, 1998, Washington, DC and November 9-12, 1998, San Jose, CA:

  • Generated $113,00 gross revenue.
  • With a budget of only $2500, recruited 12 CIOs and CTOs to speak, including the CIOs of Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Census Bureau, the CIA, and 24 other top IT executives of several Fortune 500 companies (10 were listed in the Fortune 100), 21 of which were winners, finalists and laureates of the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award, the Smithsonian Computerworld Awards and the CIO Enterprise Award programs.

Responsibilities included engendering foundation and corporate funding via research, grant proposal writing, presentations and corresponding with the private and public sectors. Selected, supervised and trained all interns.

Assistant Director of Meetings

Developed and implemented lectures and seminars, including luncheons and black-tie fundraising dinners. Served as one of the primary liaisons between the diplomatic, NGO and international affairs community and FPA’s membership. Supervised and trained all department interns

  • Served as the primary corporate, organizational and college liaison for financial and participant cultivation for the Seventh Annual International Careers Seminar and Job Fair with over one thousand three hundred participants and sixty companies from over two hundred and forty-five cities

Director, Young Professionals Program and OTR Lecture Series

Developed, directed and implemented an international affairs education program for a group of approximately 850 individuals employed in various sectors of New York City. Supervised and trained four interns per term. First two year’s accomplishments included:

  • Recruited over two hundred and fifty new members, increasing revenue by forty-five percent
  • Cut forty six percent of administrative expenses
  • Founded and edited the YPG Times, a monthly newsletter for the YPG Program
  • Increased the traditional number of events from ten to twenty-five per program year
  • Programmed and designed the association's first website
