Apply Screw Ring to Egg

From Jilly....

This is just the method that *I* use, so don't take it as gospel. Before I forget, Sherri wrote to me and told me that it was a Cockatiel egg that I used - the smallest of several eggs she kindly sent to me.

Ok, so all I did was to draw round the screw ring onto a piece of card, remembering that the screw ring will actually fit inside the egg, if you know what I mean.  Then I cut out that circle, and used it as a template by just putting it over the egg and drawing a line round the egg in pencil.

Then I cut that egg, which was a nerve wracking experience, I can tell you! Ha-ha!!  Talk about getting the shudders!! Now the egg should just slip straight onto the screw ring.  I mixed up some epoxy resin pretty quick, and just used a cotton bud to swab it round, then I felt better about touching the egg.  Done.

As I said, the little egg was a big cheat, as I just coated it and threw it into no hole beads, but the other eggs were all done using 3 cut.  I get my beads from Bev... (personal choice).  The screw ring originally came from Sherri, but we've now found them available from Wood Turners - presumably used for things like wooden salt and pepper pots, and/or snooker cues etc.

So to all the new people that are starting out in egging, have a go.  It's not that hard really..... if it was, *I* certainly couldn't do it!! LOL!
