Let's Gig!

At Carlos Zubirs' Artiste Club! The place has a great sound system, and nevermind the small stage! Today's gig had an appearance of new bands, and quite a few surprises we had! Im really excited about this..a new band called Pick-cell brought in a Computer! And another band (which name I cant recall..ermm..guys, if youre reading this, email me!) played with a turntable and guest DJ! Its so exciting and touching to see there is actually a desire to move into more experimental grounds (even though having a turntable and a computer nowadays is hardly experimental anymore)..but what I mean is, at least new bands are trying out new ways to get heard, and it shows that the scene is growing too! Nevermind the cover songs for now, as long as there are original coming up soon! (hey, we started out doing Rage and Foo covers as well!). Anyways, we had the slot number 9, the last one, when the amps and the people are so numb and tired that its just a relaxing state. hey but thanks for staying back to watch us play, those of you who did! Its really awesome having such support! Anyhow, our set was ridden with problems from start to finish (well, the finish was better than the start). Its either because a) we are now working everyday to survive or b) we're getting old...ha! Well, at first Lymeus Delta (who still has no monitor, thanks to Pick- Cell for saving our day!) had trouble with the sound cable (I know, my cable is old and half broken, I have to get mysef a new one). Aside from that, just the entire set was a little messy, with boy's bass's cable giving problems and having to delay a few songs to fix it up (and sometimes being completely off during a song) But oh well..we managed to pull it through, to a sitting and tired audience, who still showed their support with their smiles and applauses..it was really cool, I could just sit down and chat with a few people sitting on the floor. Hey Winder (LMB) sorry for that comment about you-know-what! hehe! nothing serious, just me playing the fool. And a couple of songs did sound pretty alright (Something and Hunger to Rule come up to mind) so it wasnt so bad after all. All in all, the entire gig was really something exciting and worth every ringgit paid (10 ringgits), cool if you could make it! Alright then, until the next one! END
go back.
