Flamingo Institute Prom Night
July 4th, 1998
Everyone wearing tuxedos and formal dresses. Probably fifteen white covered tables, a professional sound system and a large stage broadly displaying "Flamingo Prom Night" and "sponsored by haagen dazs". Nevertheless, the result could have been compared with Martini's standard. Lyme had to use the same small rehearsal amps used many times before and amplify them through microphones. The result was catastrophic. The instruments were improperly mixed, and the output was hardly understandable. Despite everything, the show started off with Boy's project band, Flu. The easily digestible alterna-pop-rock music received a positive reaction from the public (which was made mostly of lecturers and personalities). Lyme opened with "size does matter", which received a doubtful round of applause. But, after a few mood changing words from Javier, Lyme decided to display, having being warned not to beforehand by the event organizers, a fistful of anger with Rage's Bullet in the Head. Suddenly, faces turned to each other among the public. The band had decided to show their other side in the most unsuitable situation. A completely unexpected performance was displayed, and climaxed only with the next song, Rage's Freedom. By then, Lyme was immersed into their own flow of energy, and didnt seem to be disturbed by the faces of astonishment present on most of the public, or the people leaving the ballroom. Lyme walked off silently after playing. Note that the performance was during Lyme's five member period.
