Ipoh March Mosh Fest Part 2
Ipoh! We get a taste of the road once again, just
like when we spent that time in Kuantan, almost
a year and a half ago. This time it was much better,
more organised and a little more comfortable too.
We managed to drive two and a half hours and arrived
around 4am, where we had the luck of meeting some
guys who knew about the gig and guided us to a cheap
hotel nearby. Pretty cool! We paid a little more than
what we paid in Kuantan, but it was so much more worth
our money! Anyways, we slept more than we did at
Kuantan as well, and we were energetic to play that
afternoon! We went to the place around 12:30pm and
Blindtribe was soundchecking. After setting the
instruments (Lymeus Delta got his own table!) we
were happy and eager to get started. The bands were
great! People kept coming by hundreds until the place
was packed! There were all sorts of DIY stuff for sale,
including the video of the Ipoh March Mosh Fest Part 1,
last year! We even bought some shirts from the event.
Anyways, when our turn came people were standing and
some were already gone, tired after the previous bands'
wicked assaults. As we were setting our stuff on stage
we got shouts from the crowd like "wei, boyzone!" hahahah!
Anyhow, as soon as we were all set, Victor started
Hunger to Rule without saying much, and it went through
the thick ice that was on the way! Right after, I
introduced the band as Lyme from Ampang (the KL area
where we started), got some frowns back and continued
our set with Size does Matter, which got people dancing
and shouting the jumping session! From then onwards the
crowd was simply awesome! After Size Does Matter we
played Keropok, followed by Entenderas. Then a brief
chatter on where we stayed overnight and how great the
people in Ipoh were went on and the beginning of the
psycho song, Something, started. After Something came up
the last song of the set, Purda Kurda, which people just
enjoyed incredibly! The moshpit was wild and even on the
slow parts you could listen to crazy shoutings and lots
of crowd surfing! And then the most amazing part of the
day came for us. For the first time in our two years
gigging we were asked for an encore! After Purda Kurda
the people started shouting "Lyme!" and then "One more
song!" many times until we got the 'go' signal from the
backstage people! Amazing! We played one more before
leaving, and we chose the demo song "Nothing" to say
bye and thanks to all those amazing people inside the
place that night. We brought seven of our demos, which
we gave out for free. After the gig, we went to eat and
were invited to check out a pretty new and cool studio
at Ocean Building (cant remember the name of the studio..)
We really had an incredible time and we were dazed all
our way back to Kuala Lumpur!
