Matahari's "Fearless Jam"

Matahari is this small but good bistro/pub/gig place located inside Plaza Ampang (next to Ampang Park).. The place has been designed to host performances, so the amps, drums, lights and fancy effects were all in the place. The sound check went on with no problems, late as usual. The place has this dark, underground but cosy feeling when lights are off, partly because it is half-hidden below the shopping complex's main entrance. The gig started off with Burial Ground's amazing power metal (The Afterglow and Custom Daisy didn't perform that night) and as usual left people dumbfounded after each tight number..it had such power, such intensity.. hard to describe, really. The performances of the other bands were equally superb, noting Butterfingers' emotional set of brand new songs (only a couple of fights in the moshpit this time) and Koffin Kanser's excellent hardcore gone more hardcore...(I really cant remember if any other band played that night..this happens for writing this almost four months after it happened).

Anyways, Lyme's turn was after Burial Ground (second, or did we open? Cant remember, sorry) and the band performed a very satisfying set (considering the pressure by the other amazing bands!). The beautiful lighting effects in the dark atmosphere plus the full house that night really gave the bands an extra push.. something that somehow strengthened their sound, and Lyme was feeling it all the time. It was not often that such energy can be put together..there must be a good balance between good sound quality and proper vibe of the people...rare indeed. Anyways, the gig was excellent. 'Size does Matter' and 'Something' stood out from Lyme's set for the night, being the most well played songs for the band..really, the whole gig was something to remember! Unluckily, we dont have any pictures or videos from that night. (Its always like that. The great times are only to be remembered.)
