March 17th 2002
SoundScape's (and previously Huang Huo's) founder, Mark, wrote a very cool review of Oveourotherarth in the Malaysian Chinese Newspaper Sin Chew Jit Poh. Read the article here! (If you can read chinese, of course! :)

March 10th
Bongsai Records will print 1000 more Oveourotherarth cassettes for distribution in Malaysia!

February 15th
SoundScape Productions' fanzine (formerly known as Huang Huo Records, the most established independent chinese malaysian record label) rated the album as the 9th favorite buy of the year! Check it out!

January 20th
Tone Magazine printed a really positive half-page review of Oveourotherarth awarding it 4 stars! Woowee! Read the review here!

January 16th
Daryl Goh from The Star Newspaper wrote an excellent full-page article about Lyme, condensing the band's history, message and future. Check it out here!

January 15th
Bongsai records has delivered the 1,000th Oveourotherarth cassette tape to the hands of Eastern distribution! Alright!!

End of 2001, happy year 2002!

December 20th
Lyme was featured in the Tone Magazine in an awesome 4-page story! Although the pictures and the interview were quite alright, they missed out important points in the band's background. But dont take my word for it, read it out yourself! ;)

December 5th
Boy and Javier have almost completed the LyMe promo schedule with the aid of their friends Ham (SCTS) and Sham. Among the completed interviews are the magazines Tone, Konsert and ROTTW. There was a very positive review from the printed version of KLue and the Star Newspaper. December should have the other articles published. Also, WOW 97.6FM hosted three interviews (Nov 30, Dec 5 and Dec 7) at different times where Javier and Boy had the chance to speak about the album and other things!
Eastern Records has called in the 3rd order of Lyme cassettes, adding up a total of 500 tapes out in the shops! Since its paid on consignment basis, the cash has been paid in part, and we have to wait for the rest of it to start coming back in.

November 29th
Javier and Boy travelled to the northern city of Ipoh for one night to find out where Lyme could be put for sale. We contacted Meor and the friends at Bodysurf Music, an independent record label responsible for music compilations like Kopi Sechewen and events like the Ipoh March Mosh Fest, and they agreed to put 10 Lyme cassettes and 10 free posters for sale in their studio. Also in Ipoh, we went to a music store called Melody, where we told the manager to contact Eastern in KL to order Lyme, and also sold him 10 Cassettes at a discounted price. :)

November 27
Javier went to the southern city of Johor Baru for one night to convince the Eastern Records branch there to stock the Lyme tape. After boring the manager with Lyme pictures and endless chatter, he finally agreed to call Kuala Lumpur and order 30 cassettes.

November 24th
Bongsai signed a nationwide distribution deal with Eastern Records for one year and 200 tapes have been given as a starting amount. There are 1000 tapes left in stock for Eastern, 200 for us to sell by hand, and 100 left for promotion.

November 22nd
Bongsai printed 500 A3 sized posters (designed overnight for a rushed printing, whats new) to be given free with each album.

October 19th
Javier went to Wow FM with Ham and together they managed to get Commode-Abode in the upcoming radio song set! The song should be aired from this Monday 22 onwards, if the Dj feels in a good mood! YOU can help too! call WOWFM and ask for LyMe!
here, this is their phone number: (03)79557969!

October 17th
Boy and Javier went to take pictures of the album sleeve being printed at the printing workshop! The pics will be uploaded into the Discography section soon!

October 10th
Our friend Ham (SCTS) has been helping us out with the album's promotion! A couple of days ago LyMe was played at Wow FM's Edge show! (everyday nighttime, 97.6FM) The DJ was cool and he agreed to play Commode-Abode but he didnt know that the ending of the song had strong content (read the lyrics)! Oops! We're planning to release a Single CD with a radio-edited Commode Abode soon! :D We've done the 'beeping' ourselves so it ends up being pretty funny! (Hope they play it!)

Also, Javier, Boy and Ham have a list of interviews for the Album's release, and have already been at ROTTW and TONE for their upcoming issues. KLue magazine only needed the album and a few pics since they had already done an article on Lyme before, and they just want to do an Album review this time! (Hopefully the journalist is not the same that did the review of the family day compilation..they should have put him to review backstreet boys, me thinks.)

September 29th
The album sleeve design was handed over to a printing company! In less than a week the music's master-CD will be handed to a tape duplication company and hopefully, finally, OVEOUROTHERARTH will be in the shops by ends of 2001! YAAAH! We have decided that a sticker price of RM10 would be cheap for everyone and it would also cover our production costs! We'll let you know when the distribution will be up next!

July 30th
The two new songs were mixed and are being added and re-mastered with the album. They are going to be released as bonus tracks!

Also, LyMe got a sessionist drummer and played at TONEdef gig at the Warp yesterday. Read the review of the gig without Moez in the gig index section!

A friend from Johor (Fadzlee) created a web community to keep people informed with the latest occurrences with LyMe and Bongsai Records! Join at www.communityzero.com/lyme

May 22nd
Javier was invited to be part of a "spill" session for the Tone magazine, where local english music (or "urban" music, as it is called now) was discussed with members of other bands from different levels of experience and backgrounds. Some of the bands were oldtimers Butterfingers and upcoming hip-hop group Muchachas. Pretty interesting, but if you have been following the scene for a while there is nothing really new you'll learn..

May 22nd
LyMe was asked recently if a couple of their songs could be used as the soundtracks for an independent malaysian film in the making! Cool! The movie is scheduled to go for international film showcases overseas! We wish Azmir good luck!

May 20th
Javier was invited for a discussion in a new internet-based, malaysian broadcast channel, located at http://www.asian-family.com. Ill be there to discuss about parents that don't let their kids be in a rock band (yeah! like they will do lots of drugs and alcohol, haha! jokinglah only. We all know thats not true.) Anyways, the scheduled day is on the 29th of May at 8pm, on a set called Teenvoiz.

May 16th
Finally some news! After three months of no activities, there are a few small (significant nevertheless) updates! First, the two songs (not new anymore, right?) Toilet Company and The Trees were mixed and are now ready to be shared. Soon from 101 studios did a good job in the mixing and the two songs will either be added to Oveourotherarth (LyMe's album) or be released separately as singles or compilations. Certainly you'll be able to download them before they are released, so check back to see when they are available!

February 17th
The band used part of the Buzzhunt's 50 free studio hours to record their latest songs over the weekend, a couple of days before Victor leaves to China and Boy back to Terengganu. The songs will be released later as part of an EP or compilations, whichever comes first. (hint, hint! hehe).

February 15th
The LyMeSite has turned 3 years old!

February 10th
We found a couple of good places to print the album sleeve, and possibly another one to duplicate the tape. (If you duplicate and print inlays separately, its cheaper than getting a "package", but it also takes more time).

February 8th
The first LyMe T-Shirt is being printed! With the money we got from the Raw is War 2 gig (500 ringgits) we're doing around 50 t-shirts. We're using Mo's artwork, front only, and on a white or black t-shirt. Now, we didnt use all the money to print the t-shirts.. Victor's flanger pedal finally quit its job (got tired of being kicked around so much, ha!) so he bought himself a brand new, kickass one!

February 4th
LyMe had an interview with music magazine TONE after the Raw is War 2 gig!

On a similar line, the band also had an unexpected interview with malay metal magazine Konsert! RRRAAH Metaaaaaal! Drrrink de blod! hahaha! (how do you type the "satan metal hand"?) mmhh.. D[ or ()< ? hahaha! aaw man!

February 2nd
LyMe's Raw is War 2 gig is in two days and the band is going to go into holidays after that, since the Lymeans have very different upcoming agendas. In a few words, Moez is travelling to England to check how are things at his birth place, Victor is travelling to China for holidays with parents and Boy is moving to Terengganu to work for some time. Meanwhile, Javier stays put in KL to finish off the production of LyMe's debut album and keep in touch with the guys overseas to explore the possibilities of getting LyMe's music out of Malaysia.

January 29th
The malaysian representatives of Soundbuzz.com, Fuse Asia, have been chatting with LyMe about the possibilities of a future international push, promo and marketing. So far, nothing has been settled, but more knowledge keeps coming in, which I will let you all know once we figure out what to do. :)

January 28th
LyMe had an interview with online entertainment zine Klue.com.my and shared whats going on with the band, its future and a peek of the Album's cover!

January 26th
An article about the Breaking Ground gig was printed on the New Straits Times (written by J.Mahadevan) with a very straightforward review of the event! Pretty cool and honest, although a little too honest, maybe..ha! Wow Jeremiah, remember its a major national newspaper you're writing the article for, and the bands that got not-so-good reviews are going to be shattered and terribly demoralised, man! Easy on 'em! Anyhow, Im happy he liked our set and wrote a generous review about our music! Thanks dude! I'll post the article here once I scan it.

January 5th
A malaysian zine called "Fuzztival" has contacted the band for an email interview! Also, the zine editors have contact with a French magazine, which will probably publish the interview as well!

January 4th
LyMe was ranked fourth in the year 2000's "cool & happenin'" poll results (Local Group section) inside the Star Newspaper! We had a 3.7% of votes, after Poetic Ammo (with an amazing 65.6% of votes), John's mistress (11.1%) and Too Phat (8.5%). With us is Spunky Funggy with a 3.5%, and then others (Juliet the orange, Black Maria, and other mainstream groups together) with a 7.7%.
Hey, not bad for a band that, compared to the rest of them:
-has no album/EP in the shops yet, except the underground distributed demo!
-has no money invested in promotion at all!
-strips, misbehaves, screams and swears onstage,
-and like most of the local alternative and underrated musicians out there, runs on a DIY concept!
(who said you cant make it if you stay independent? Times are changing, when are you going to wake up?)

Like Paul McCartney wrote, we get by with a little help from our friends!

End of 2000, happy year 2001!

December 31st
I uploaded at last a few pictures I had forgotten to upload earlier, its the Cleo and Tone articles' scans! Also, I uploaded an old Rock the World review that came out in Day&Night and was laying around the hard disk..here they are: (they're pretty big so open them in a new window and have a little patience..).

There's a picture of Javier during his Sungai Selangor Dam protest with most of his clothes off at the Kosovo Charity festival inside this month's Malay Metal magazine Konsert! Of course, it was a funny section of the mag and they write something like "I cant find my pants!" ha!

December 20th
LyMe has uploaded songs to Garageband.com and IUMA.com! Go download them! Other websites hosting LyMe stuff are the Japan based resource Asian Rock Rising, the local old-timer Grifter's Sound Booth and Singapore's Soundbuzz.com.

December 19th
Javier is using Napster at his workplace and all the LyMe tracks have been encoded into MP3 for free download! Guess thats the fastest and easiest (and cheapest) way to get our music to you! Erm...of course, when our tape comes out, you're going to be nice and go to the shop and buy it, ok? There's nothing like owning the REAL tape, with nice color cover and a cool sign that reads "DIY is Cool" printed on the cover. Piracy in Malaysia is rampant, so please buy our Bongsai Record tapes so that we can cover the production costs ok? cool.

November 28th
LyMe has been running around town looking for sponsorship to help duplicate and distribute Oveourotherarth! (our debut DIY LP). One place that showed their interest was Rufffey (thats three F) Skate shop in Midvalley megamall, whose owner had previously done a sponsorship deal with Melacca's rapcore band Kelp! Cool! Now we have to come up with the total cost of production of the album so we can split it into a few sponsors who might be willing to help in exchange of some advertisment in the inlay! (Are you interested? call us! Small businesses preferred! Anything goes! Its now or never! haha) Seriously, we want to get the LP out in the shops by January or February 2001!

October 31st
We got news that LyMe's appearance on "Myra's Domain" (an ASTRO RIA program - Astro is the local cable TV and Ria is the Malay channel) is scheduled for the 2nd of November at 10:30pm! A few months ago (scroll down and check on the news, around may, used to be called my.kom) we had an interview with Double Vision productions and we spoke about the LymeSite, about Lymeus Delta and about us in general..try not to miss it!

October 30th
LyMe was interviewed and recorded on a handicam by the folks from Octopus.com.my right after the gig at PWTC. We had a great time making up a new story on how Lyme came together..! :) Hopefully it will be published on the Octopus site soon.

October 29th
Alright, the girl magazine where Lyme is featured this month is the CLEO magazine! Ill upload the article very soon, forgot to bring the diskette to the cyber..

October 6th
A cool article came out on us in the new music magazine TONE! I'll scan it and put it here soon! Very cool, shame they used a weird picture of us..we were supposed to be posing like trees, but it seems as if we all have back-aches! haha!

September 26th
The pro photo-shoot we had a while ago was published today! Wow, I cant wait to hear the feedback we'll get! ;) Ill scan it and post it up soon. But Ill let people find out by themselves first! ha!

September 5th
The cool picture of the Soundbuzz event taken by the Star some time ago was shown again in a mainstream magazine this month...but as usual, mainstream magazines dont know anything and they said we were a band from Singapore. Anyways. Thanks for the feature though. :)

August 20th
An article was printed on a chinese magazine talking about the Family Day compilation! Here's the image! There are a couple of more articles around, but I havent got them yet. I'll ask Posse for them and Ill put them here later.

August 10th
LyMe went today for their first real photoshoot! Check a couple of the pics which we managed to bring home in the pics section! Some of them will be published in the October edition of a magazine that will make you laugh out loud! There's a short article about Lyme in the same magazine too! Ill tell you more about it later, right now Im embarrassed..ha!

August 5th
Soundbuzz.com featured LyMe in their front page!

August 4th
A cool article came out today about the Soundbuzz thing! Read it here!

Also, another article appeared speaking about the compilation's press showcase in Hard Rock Cafe! Check it out here! There was a big group picture on top, I'll upload it soon.

Another article about the same thing came out in a chinese newspaper! I still have to get the article to scan it, but Ill post it soon!

August 3rd
There's an article about Posse Records (The label that recorded one of our songs in the "Family Day" compilation) in the newspaper today! Read it here!

July 29th
Lyme won first place in the Soundbuzz.com's Buzzhunt in Kuala Lumpur! The singapore based company is opening doors in Malaysia (represented by FuseAsia) and they organised this event for their lauch. I still think that competition sucked, though. We won a cute soundbuzz-headphones-in-plexiglas-box trophy and 50 (yeah, fifty! wow!) hours of recording time in the same place where we recorded the compilation, One-zero-One studio. Other finalists (who did awesomely well and deserved as much as we did to win) won 20 hours of recording time. And what about the bands that played in the first and the second round and didnt get to the final? they played their hearts out too..

There's an article on the newspaper about the gigs today at Bintang Square and Mcities! Read it here!

July 23rd
Moez sessioned drums for one of the compilation's bands (M131x - basically Mikko Ex-The Fallen). It has Syarul (Love Me Butch Vocals) singing in it as well. Have you heard the song yet?

July 17th
The national release of Posse Records' Family Day compilation is today! Go get a copy now!

check out the cover!

Also, the release party/gig was changed for the 23rd of July in a more personal environment: Timun Drive pub, behind Ampang Point, Jalan Ampang. (so much for cherating! ha!)

July 16th
Lyme and other KL bands were sponsored by Octopus.com.my! The company provided the bands with transportation and accomodation for their Batu Pahat gig, in exchange for showing off their octobuses around! :)

July 5th
Lyme was featured in the "ulrasound" section in Octopus.com.my! There's a little chat we had with Zahar (the dude who interviewed us) and a couple of pictures..go check it out! Section 2.1 (Alligator Lounge). Mmmh, the title kinda makes us look a little ruthless and brutal..hahaha! The whole interview is cool, except a thing or two which didnt really happen the way its written, but generally it sounds pretty ok.

June 20th
The mastering of Oveourotherarth has been completed! Our next step will be duplicating and printing..but the main handicap now will be getting the money to do it..(since we spent all our savings in the recording and the mixing, but its alright..we're getting there!) Finding a publisher should be done in the meantime, I guess. I already completed a prototype for the cover at home, and its looking pretty neat. Boy came up with a logo for Bongsai records yesterday too!

June 4th
Good news! We mixed the album tonight! If everything goes right, in one week or two we will be mastering at synchrosound! Alright!! Of course, there's still a long way to go..now we have to start worrying about what company to choose to do the publishing of our album (did you know that even though we have our own label, we STILL need another company to do the publishing? Well, I just found out recently. :) And we cant make our own publishing company cause we need at least 50 songs from different bands to be able to do it. Oh well.) I'll keep you people posted on this.

June 2nd
We have completed a song that was under construction to place it in the compilation (so we wouldnt have to take a song out of the album). We called our new song "things that go bump in the night"..remember we once used that name for one of our songs, but later decided to change it? Some of you might have heard it before, since we played only half of it during the halloween festival last year..so its a ScArY song (evil laugh)..

May 27th
Posse Records, a label owned by Bob from the malay rap band Ku2, has decided to record a compilation and we were invited te be in it! Its great, one song per band and there are going to be 10 bands, including Prana, Nervewreck, Love me Butch, Seven Collar T-Shirt, Infectious Maggots and 5 other great honest-no-bullshit acts! Hopefully the record should be out by ends of July.

May 17th
The album progress has been slow, since the mixing date has had to be postponed a number of times. Nevertheless, a date has finally been set for the mixing and it should all be done by June the 5th! After that, the mastering should take no time. We still have to worry about the duplication/distribution part, but we're getting there! :)

May 4th
We went to register our own label, Bongsai Records, today! Woohoo!

May 3rd
We have been interviewed by a TV show (in Bahasa Malaysia) called "my.kom", which will be shown in Astro Ria sometime in June! The program features technology and internet and we're focusing on Lymeus Delta and on the LymeSite!

And another thing! There's this singaporean TV company called Interruption TV, which has plans to make a music channel for asia (called Much Music Malaysia and broadcasted through TV3 I think), and we got a slot to record a video for it! We feel so lucky, this is great! We recorded, studio style, two of our songs: Keropok and C-22 "Jungle" Mech. The video shooting was great, we were given free food, free beer, free jamming and a friendly environment..! Shame we didnt take any pictures, Id love to show you people how cool it was. Other bands recorded were Washer and Spunky Funggy, among 10 other local artistes.

April 21st
Javier and Victor are shifting home.

April 20th
There will be a short slowdown of activities since Javier and Victor's parents are finally leaving Malaysia by ends of the month. J and V will continue in KL on their own to finish thier studies and there's been a lot of stress in order for the brothers to settle every detail of their stay in Malaysia. Once again, Lyme has no home-jamming room so they will be rehearsing in paid studios again.

April 1st
Found an article printed on a magazine
reviewing the Rock the World concert! Check it out here!

March 22nd
LyMe has decided that they should make their own label in order to produce their album. (trust no-one!) The name has not been finalised yet, even though "Bongsai Records" might be the one. Having decided to go at it the hard way, Lyme is getting help from good friends in order to be able to get their record in the streets!

March 21st
Lyme's debut album, titled Oveourotherarth, will be mixed at Twin Studios hopefully in a week's time. The mastering will be done at Synchrosound studios (thats what we got for playing at their Panasonic 'rock the world' gig on the 25th!). The cover is being done here at home.

March 20th
Size does Matter, the funny-funk Lyme song, has been chosen to be recorded in a friend's college-project Video clip! Right now, the video is in the middle of recording, and should be finished by next month. Its pretty cool, and since its a college project, we can't distribute it..so give us a blank VHS tape and we'll dub it for you! :) Are you overseas? Email us and we'll figure something out!

March 19th
The Album has been recorded! After a weekend of day and night work, the band got 9 of their 10 songs recorded at Twin Studios, KL (in a very short time!). The tenth song? Its Hardhop, which we decided to leave it for another release. (Plus we were not ready to record it yet). We will keep in touch with Integrated Soul until we can record the song properly, in a compilation sometime!

March 13th
Lyme's getting ready to enter the studio once again and record their debut album! Ill keep you posted on what's going to happen next!

March 11th
Sputum/Senseless split EP is now at your nearest music shop! Go check it out!

March 6th
A review on the Warp's Koffin Khronicles Showcase appeared on the march edition of a magazine (guess, no hints) and Lyme had a column all of its own! And again, another mistake..we did not play any cover songs, dammit! Stupid mainstream magazines never know what they are talking about. (no offense..hehe)

March 4th
Lyme played in Ipoh! Woohoo! And what a gig it was! Check the review in the past gigs section!

February 1st
Here's another article in the Star Newspaper where LyMe is mentioned..oh-oh...mistake there! LyMe is not signed under Koffin Khronicles Record Label. I fixed the broken link. Sorry for that one.

January 28th
There was a lot of activity in the underground during January! Lyme was mentioned in an article in the Star Newspaper, read it for yourself here! Small note here: I must disagree that the Label's got the best of the scene in their hands...ahem..there are many other KICKASS BANDS out there who have little chance to show what they got..look deep in the underground, like the article says.

End of 1999, happy year 2000!

End of December
After keeping the file in my computer for months I finally uploaded the results for the email based, weblist-voted underground polls, done by Karen Tan. Shame she didnt include the total amount of votes.. but its a great project! Hope she does it again! Check out the page, just like how it was sent around!

December 24th
Lyme is kicking off the new year with a national showcase! Wow! Lyme was invited by Koffin Khronicles (Koffin Kanser's newest label) to play as guests only, and together with other four officially signed bands (Republic of Brickfields, Koffin Kanser, Prana and Blindtribe), the tour will feature four or five major cities around Malaysia! We'll post more on it as it comes!

December 23th
AGE's recording was postponed to the first days of the new year. Lyme's EP might grow to be a 10 or 11 songs album then!

December 1st
Javier recorded a short vocals part in Sputum's latest project! The new Sputum sound is quite different from the original Sputum album, mixing weird, experimental riffs together with their amazing power metal skills! Really something you have to listen. Should be released very soon, go look for it!

November 26th
The band got three of their old songs recorded (by tracks!) on their tiring overnight recording session. They are Uneasy, Nothing and Hunger to Rule. The vocals will be finished next week. Check out the pictures and the review of the night in the first recording session page!

November 16th
Lyme is getting some of their older songs in a crisp quality recording next week, wish us good luck. This is not AGE's recording yet, its a friend's college's studio. If the songs are good enough, we might be able to save some time (and money) in the December's recording by bringing them in! (Alright! Thanks Pablo!)

November 6th
Aero entertainment, that low profile label that was supposed to record Lyme in a compilation went excessively low profile and it went bankrupt! Hahaha! So no more compilation for us. Oh well, nevermind.

November 2nd
Lyme is getting ready to record their first release sometime next month. (hopefully before the new millennium!) The band is working on tightening bolts and fixing loose ends on all of their songs (search down and this will remind you of the time we recorded our demo!), in order to put them on tape. Guess what independent label Lyme is working with..click here to know more!

October 30th
There's another new song to stash in the bag of tracks! This one has been called Keropok, and it will add up to a total of 9 songs! Woohoo! Oh yeah, and I renamed 'Purge' as 'Purda Kurda'. Sounds more accurate. :)

September 29th
Lyme has just finished another song, (Im thinking of calling it Belonging) among many delays due to busy schedules (sleeping, eating, toilets, etc.) and together with 'Purge' and the 'hiphop/hardcore whatever' (with Integrated Soul on vocals), will get Lyme 8 songs in all! cool!

September 28th
Aero Entertainment, a cool multi-purpose low-profile label will record a compilation of a few bands, and we were invited to put two of our songs in it! We're recording Something and Nothing in it, and finally we'll be able to hear them in good quality! The recording is really soon, and the release should be done by the end of the year! Right on!

September 2nd
We have some pretty cool news, and even though I found it pretty hard to publish them in the LymeSite, I think you all have the right to know too..a magazine wrote an article about us! (DIY ethics, no names). Thanks to the writer of the article though!

Check out the Article! (in Bahasa Malaysia)

August 10th
Boy's work place, Timun Drive Pub (behind Ampang Point, Jln Ampang) has accepted to host a performance (of bands, for now) twice a month, organised completely by Jeffrey (Prana, he used to work there), G.G (Sputum) and Boy (Lyme, duh). The place is a pub, so the maximum capacity is around 80 people or so. A beer will be included in the 10 Ringgits entrance fee, or alternatively a Soft Drink can be chosen. The event is scheduled for late night (8:30 until 11pm), so people can just hang out in the place until 1am. The first gig there was a success (read the review), considering the reduced space. That means that there is a green light to continue doing it! If you're interested to play, (for exposure/fun purposes only, no hard-earned-cash!) send boy an email!

August 3rd
With the gig Lyme is performing together with underground hip-hop groups at Zodiac on the 7th, the band planned to join forces with rapping duo Integrated Soul and come up with a blend of the two styles, and the results will be shown the night of the gig!

July 5th
Reucas is back from Australia! Even though its only for a couple of weeks, we're getting him to play with us on the 11th of July gig over at Colors! He will probably do some vocals over one or two songs, it'll be nice having him around again!

July 1st
Two more songs are just out of the oven and ready to be played! One of them is called "Things that go bump in the night" (Ok, so we couldnt come up with a better name, but then again all our song's names are uncreative and pointless.) and the other one still has no name.. :)

June 19th
Burial Ground's EP is being mixed today and is being set up for distribution!

May 16th
Javier was invited by power-metal band Burial Ground (ex-Dust Components/The Fallen/Sacrilege) to sing in one of their new demo songs. In the tape, Burial Ground explores new ground and spreads to a wider set of music by arranging rapcore with techno, still with their ground-shaking metal riffs! The recording is still in process, and the demo should be released early next month!

May 7th
Lyme has finally got itself a place to play. Javier and Victor found a room available (thanks to their dad!) in their house, and it will now become the band's studio.

May 4th
The new song played in the two most recent gigs is called Something. (thats the name!) that's it!

April 5th
The sudden appearance of new gigs has pushed Lyme to finish off two new songs! (Actually, they are on their final stage, they dont even have names yet!)

April 2nd
Lyme has been getting used to a new instrument and all their songs have been modified.. but I'll leave the details for later, until people get used to see it in action on stage!

March 6th
Lyme was called up to judge 20 bands in the St. Mary Girl's School's Battle of the Bands. It was quite an honour for us to be chosen for such a thing, and we did it with all our interest put into it. Many new comers and a few more experienced bands made up the competitors, and the event was completed with no problems. (well, maybe one or two but nothing too bad. Just an acquaintance of Moez fell from the stage while moshing and almost broke his neck, but nothing much. hehe)

Lyme finished their debut demo, or better, finished the cover of their debut demo. We decided that since it will take us decades to record a proper quality demo we'd rather distribute the one we have.. but with a proper cover, that is. Oh, and the price is not 2 bucks anymore, we decided it should be RM4 to compensate for the color cover and the effort put into it..hope you all find it fair.

End of 1998, happy 1999!

December 22nd
"Holiday in the Rain", a Kuantan Underground Zine, contacted us for an interview. A letter was received by snail mail and the twenty questions should be published in it before Hari Raya, according to its editor, Rule. You can contact Rule to his address (rulehitrz@hotmail.com) and ask him if he can send you the zine to KL by mail. (That is what we are planning to do..!)

The second part of Zodiac's Merry Christmas Hardcore gig concluded, and we were amazed by the spirit in everyone present that night. Check the Past Gigs Section for details...

December 17th
Lyme has played a gig in Zodiac, a nightclub located behind KL Plaza, Ampang. Read more in the Past Gigs Section.. Also, Lyme is playing again in the same place, next week. Read about that in the Future Gigs Section..

November 28th
Lyme played their first off-station gig in Kuantan! Thanks to Carburator Dung's Joe Kidd and mates, Lyme went for a taste of the road. Crashing in a cheap RM30 hotel room after a five-hour bus trip, having hardly slept three hours, and having nauseous stomachs for the whole day, the gig was still done, featuring kickass HC/punk/industrial bands from KL and Kuantan. All in all, loads of moshing, sweating and an incredible experience provided by the cool Kuantan UG crowd. You can read more about it in the Blasting Concept page! Cheers Joe!

A 4-song semi-demo tape has been finally recorded. Although there are still arguments on whether the recording should be released as a demo or only as a gig-catcher, the truth is it might take some time before a track by track, proper quality demo is recorded (mostly because of: a)its price b)its expensive and c)its unaffordable). We suggest you to wait for the proper demo, which will probably have a couple of songs more, a title, and a cover, but if you need an immediate sample of Lyme's music, click on the "Contact Lyme" link on the main page (if your browser is configured to send email) or send emails to Javier (vajrayana@hotmail.com), Moez (moez_k@hotmail.com), Boy (built_a_bong@hotmail.com) and Victor (vittiko@hotmail.com) writing the way you would like the tape delivered. (You might want us to snail-mail it to you, or you might want to either pay us a visit or meet somewhere convenient.) Oh yeah, and it costs 2 bucks (cheap!).

October 1st
Lyme has finished two more play-worthy songs, and the rehearsals are often, in order to make them playable soon. Both songs go after the names of "Nothing" and "Uneasy". A third song, completed longer time ago, goes named "Hunger to rule" to add into Lyme's small but growing repertoire of original songs. The other complete piece is called "Size does matter", among numerous riffs still in the process of welding and arranging.

Finally, something. Even though you can find this in the "Gigs to come" section, it is worth mentioning here in similar detail. Lyme is trying its luck in the Band Competition organized by Combo Mix, with sponsors ranging from Emporio Armani to Mtv. The final will be held in the KL experimental theatre on the 20th of November 1998. We'll see what happens, this is probably Lyme's most serious committment since the band was formed, that is, if we are in of course..

August 28th.
The band will go into a brief slowdown, since Javier and Victor are shifting home temporarily. Same goes to Moez, who moved from his old apartment a few days ago. This will force some time of inactivity, since the band usually rehearsed in Victor's room.

August 20th.
Lyme is planning the recording of a Demo tape, which has been the band's dream for far too long..Recently Lyme has been warming up engines and tightening bolts in order to make a fine quality recording. The Studio has not been decided yet, but quality is the dish of the day. (some places have already been studied.)

July 25th.
Lyme's bassist, Reucas is leaving to Australia to continue his studies (may god have mercy upon his soul!), and his place will be taken by Boy. Reucas was an excellent friend beside of his far out ability of coming up with super funky/hardcore basslines.. Lyme will miss him, for sure.

With Reucas Departure, Lyme's newest member, boy, will switch from his originally intended instrument (guitar) to bass, which we think suits him perfectly well (since he spends most of his time in this world playing ska/punk basslines. He kinda clicks with the instrument..). Guess its back to four Lymes..

Victor, Boy and Javier attended a gig in the Lost City, last Sunday 12 of July, and they had the luck of finally meeting with 18SGG and Novokane personally. (at least now we know who we are sending emails to, guys!).
