Urban Survival Gig

A fresh new place to play! And who better to organise
it than Doyerown records, Spunky Funggy's own label, the
band that has the most amount of gigs on their back?
The place is great. Located next to KLCC, Question Mark
bistro is the new place where old Wall Street pub
used to be. Large, comfortable, and with a good stage,
the pub is meant for gigs! The gig started off late,
as usual, (around 4:20pm) with Love me Butch opening
the afternoon. The small attendance of people was due
to the lack of flyers around KL, but the few curious
people that went had an interesting afternoon (at
least they didnt spend it in front of the idiot box).
The vibe was great, the sound was good and the bands
played great! Cashmere and Subculture played just before
our turn, with their cool tunes..Subculture they had to
leave early back to Taiping, I think. We played a short
4 songs set, that included Jungle mech, Entenderas,
Purda Kurda and Keropok. Wow and I had lots of trouble
finding a monitor! I remember now! Remember Lymeus Delta's
monitor blew up in the panasonic gig? Well, I borrowed
Boy's sister's monitor first, just to find out during
sound check that it didnt work...so we called different
people to borrow one and we ended up with one from
Victor's college friends..hehe..but it was worth it!
I wonder if Ill have a monitor for the Underground 2000
gig..anyways, the band for the night was spunkus fungus
with no doubt! As soon as they started playing, lots
of people started to pop into the dance floor jumping to
spunky's songs..it was great fun. after that, the gig
(and all the tension with it) were finished, and we went
for a good game of counterstrike in our usual cybercafe
in ampang. END!

go back.
