The Warp & Bistro Gig

The first thing that caught our attention when we
got to the place was the size of it! The stage was
surrounded by ceiling high (two stories-high!)
amps and an amazing decoration..two indutrial-like
metal pillars were on both sides of the band
space..it was really a place to sit and watch and
just be silent in awe. Anyways, the gig started
late..people started showing up at 3 and the bands
were still in sound check..the sound crew apparently
had trouble doind what they did best..
Well, around four the bands started playing..
Motherland opened the night, followed by us.
The vibe was cool..people were enjoying the
show. Then came Burial Ground with their amazing
speed-metal show. Afterwards, Washer and Dead
Mushroom showed up, along with Koffin Kanser
(who had an amazing performance..the mosh-pit
was full all the time! And Im talking about almost
200 people!) And finally Prana, who had to take
the nearly impossible task of keeping everyone in
until the last note was played..and it was hard
but they managed pretty well!
Lyme's appearance was alright, but the band
wasn't too satisfied, since they found
problems along the way, such as a poor sound
quality. Nevertheless, it was good. Size does
matter brought in the attention of people
(it was played first), and a sudden twist into
Hunger to Rule caught many off guard, when they
were expecting a similarity with the first song.
The hightlight was Korn's Blind, which brought
into the moshpit a huge amount of people! (more
than any other gig Lyme has had!). It was late
now and the song set had to be cut one song short,
so Lyme decided to close with Rage's Freedom.
The gig was energetic for both the band and
the crowd, but there was always that sour taste
of a poor sound quality, which kills half of the
power and fun..oh well, hopefully we'll get a
better sound mix in Matahari! Until then!
