LISA

Cassie took out her cell phone and dialed home Amanda picked up after two rings.

Amanda: “Hello?”

Cass: “Hey Amanda, whatcha doing?”

Amanda: “Nothing much.”

Cass: “Great! Be ready in 5 minutes.”

Amanda: “Why?”

Cass: “Just be ready.” With that she hung up. That’s weird, Amanda though.

Nick paced back and fourth in the waiting room. He was going crazy, how much longer was he going to have to wait? He went over to the nearest payphone and dialed AJ’s cell.

AJ: “Hello?”

Nick: “Hey Bone, I need you and Chris to come to the hospital right away.”

AJ: “What’s wrong? Why?”

Nick: “Look, Lis went into the ER two hours ago and I haven’t heard anything from the doctors and-

AJ: “It’s ok, I understand, we’ll be there ASAP.”

Nick: “Thanks.”

AJ: “No problem.”

Cassie, Caro, Kev and Howie all drove home.

Caro: “When you guys go in can you get Amanda for us?”

Kev: “Sure, well good luck.” He winked at her. “Remember 7:00pm sharp.” He bent over and kissed her.

Cassie: “Gotcha, see ya later.” She grabbed Howie’s arm, pulled him towards her and kissed him. They got out of the car and a few seconds later Amanda ran out of the house and joined them.

Amanda: “Hey guys what’s up? Where are we going?”

Caro: “On a girl outing, to the mall.” She smiled at Cassie.

Amanda: “Why to the mall? We have enough clothes.”

Cassie: “Geex you’re starting to sound like one of the guys, well anyways we saw this really cute dress at Hotl Renfrew and you just have to get it.”

Amanda: “Why me?”

Cassie: “Because…”They had just pulled into the parking lot at the mall.

Back at the house…

Kev: “I wonder where Brian is?”

Howie: “Don’t know…” They walked into Brians room to see Brian sitting on his bed starring at a picture of Amanda. “Hey B-Rok, we gotta talk…” With that they closed the door behind them.

Nick!

Nick tunred around to see Chris and AJ running towards him, His face was all red Chris gave him a big hug. “It’s ok” she whispered in his ear as AJ patted him on the back.

AJ: “So you haven’t heard anything eh?”

Nick: “No and I’m going crazy, this is all my fault, what have I done to her? If anything ever happens to her I’ll never be able to forgive myself.”

Chris: “Don’t worry, I’m sure she’s fine.” She looked at AJ for reasssurence.

Nick: “I never should have left her-

Then the doctor walked into the room.

By the time Cassie and Caro had gotten Amanda ready it was 6:30. Amanda looked beautiful, she was wearing a slim fitting white spaghetti strap, Calvin Klein dress. Her hair was pilled on top of her head with ringlettes pouring down. Cassie and Caro rushed Amanda into the car and Drove quiclky to the beach.

Cassie: “Um, Amanda, I kinda forgot soomething on the beach could you please go get it..

Amanda: “Sure.” She looked at Cassie then at Caroline, something strange was going on. She got out of the car and walked quickly along the beach. She stopped just for a moment to watch the sun setting when she heard music…a piano. She turned around and saw Kevin in a white tux playing at a white grand piano, but that’s not what caught her eye, it was Brian sitting at a table for two in a white tux with a single rose in his hands.

The doctor looked over at Christine and said. “Are you her sister.”

Chris: “No, but one of her best friends-

Nick: “I’m her boyfriend, is she alright? Can I see her?”

AJ: “Nicky man, calm down, it’s ok.”

DR: “Well your girlfriend, best friend or whatever had a heart attack.”

Chris: “Oh my God!” Chris started to cry as AJ reached out and took her in his arms.

Nick: “Is she ok? How? Why?”

DR: “She took another overdose of pills, we discovered that she had a minor one earlier today also. But yes she’s ok, we’ll just have to keep a close eye on her. One of you can go see her now.”

Chris and AJ looked at Nick and so he followed the doctor to her room.

Cassie got out of Caro’s car and got into Howie’s.

Cassie: “Hey sexy, everything worked out as planned.” She leaned over and kised him “I’m tired let’s go home.”

When they got home Howie and Cassie settled themselves down in the den. They had just started to talk about the days events when the doorbell rang.

Cassie: “I’ll get it.” She got up and walked to the front door. When she opened it her mouth dropped in disbelief.

“Hey babe, how ya doing?” He gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Then Howie came up behind Cassie.

Howie: “Cassie, who’s this?” He looked at her wonder.

Cassie: “Well, um Howie this is Erik and Erik this is my soon to be husband and father of our child.”

Erik: “Uh huh, I see…”

Howie: “I think I’ll go out for awhile.” And with that he kissed Cassie and walked out the door.

(AN – Erik is my neighbour and lifelong friend and when this story was written, Cassie and Erik had become “friends with potential”)

Brian motioned for Amanda to come and sit down. As soon as she dod he got up and stood near the piano. His eyes never left her. I love her so much he thought to himself, this better work.

Brian: “Amanda this song is for you.” He sang If you stay. Amanda had tears in her eyes. She got up and fell into his arms. They slow danced while Brian also sang Darlin’. When he finished Amanda stayed in his arms and never wanted to let go again. As Kevin walked away Amanda mouted to him “Thank you” but couldn’t help but think of the man she loved.

Nick walked into Lisa’s roon and silently sat down in the chair next to her bed. She was hooked up to all sorts of machines and had all these tubes and IV’s running in and out of her. He took her free hand and held it.

Nick: “Lisa, I’m so sorry for what I’ve done to you, it’s all my fault, I never knew that I would hurt you so much. I’ll never leave you again, I promise I love you so much, please get better. “ His face got all red again.

Kevin got into the car and looked at Caroline, he had a big smile on his face.

Caro: “I guess it worked?”

Kev: “Yeah, they’re so cute. Well now that that is taken out of the way, why don’t you and I spend some time together?”

Caro: “Sounds good to me, but why don’t we stop off at home first so I can get changed?”

Kev: “What I had in mind doesn’t nned clothing.”

Caro: “Oh, I see.” She pulled him towards her and kissed his mouth eagerly.

CAROLINE

Lisa woke up feeling weak and seeing Nick.

Nick: “Lisa, you’re up?”

Lisa: “What happened?”

Nick: “You had a heart attack.”

Lisa: “What? How come?”

Nick: “Lis, you overdosed on pills…again.”

Lisa: “Oh my god! What’s wrong with me?”

Nick: “Nothing, you just need to get help.”

Lisa: “That could take forever.”

Nick: “Luckily for us, we have forever.”

Lisa: “No, Nick, I can’t ask you that.”

Nick: “Ask me what?”

Lisa: “To wait around for me, that isn’t fair and I won’t ask you to do it.”

Nick: “You’re not asking, I’m offering because I love you.”

Lisa: “No, Nick. This addiction could take months to overcome and I’m not going to put you through that.”

Nick: “You’re not doing anything, I can decide for myself, you know?”

Lisa: “Of course, I know but –

Nick: “No buts, I’m going to be with you, every second of this.”

Lisa: “Please Nick, don’t make this harder then it already is.”

Nick: “Lis, you can’t actually be serious about this.”

Lisa: “Nick, you’re young, handsome and I don’t want you to feel like you’re tied down. You have your whole life in front of you-

Nick: “Wrong, we have our whole lives together in front of us.”

Lisa: “Nick, please just go.”

Nick: “Don’t shut me out Lisa.”

Lisa: “I’m not, I’m setting you free.”

Nick: “Don’t ask me to go, I’m nothing without you, you complete me Lisa.”

Lisa: (looking away from Nick) “ Please Nick, I’m not asking you to leave, I’m telling you to.”

Nick: “Alright, I’ll go. But I’ll be back, tomorrow and the day after that and the next one. I’m not letting you go without a fight.”

Lisa: “Nick, just go.”

Nick: “I’m here for you, sweetie. And I always will be.” And with that he walked out of the hospital room, leaving Lisa in tears and wondering if she had done the right thing.

Back at the house, Cassie and Erik were sitting in the den. Cassie noticed how much cutter Erik had become over the last few years. “God, he looks good.” She thought, as for Erik, he was hoping that just maybe, he still had a chance with her, after all who was this Howard guy anyways??

Cass: “It’s been awhile huh?”

Erik: “Tell me about it, I mean Caro told me you had grown up a whole lot, but wow, you look incredible.”

Cass: “Thanks, you don’t look so bad yourself, so how’s life?”

Erik: “Not as full as yours. If I heard you right, did you say father of your child?”

Cass: “Well, um yeah.”

Erik: “Wow, Cassie. I guess as soon as you turned 16, you didn’t waste anytime.”

Cass: “That’s not how it is.”

Erik: “Sure,. Too bad we didn’t see each either a couple months before huh?”

Cass: “Well, um-

Then Kevin and Caroline walked into the house.

Caro: (running up the stairs) “Erik! Oh my god! Its’ been so long! Come over here and give me a hug!” Erik got up and gave Caro a big hug.

Erik: “I’ve missed you.”

Caro: “I know, you and Jug (AN- another guy we grew up with) and Joey (AN- another neighbor, a close friend, we have a unique relationship)-

Erik: “He’s there.” Caro: “What? Here?”

Erik: “Yeah, he says he’s going to come over later.”

Caro: “Oh my God, Kevin, Erik, Erik my boyfriend Kevin.”

Erik: “Nice, to finally meet you.”

Kev: “So, who’s Joey?”

Erik: “You never told him about Joey?”

Kev: “No.”

While they were talking, they hadn’t seen Cassie drift off to her room. As she sat on her bed, she wondered if marrying Howie was really what she wanted to do.

Brian and Amanda were sitting on the dock, having a serious talk about honesty.

Brian: “I’m glad we’ve decided to be totally open and honest with each other now.”

Amanda: “I’m glad you brought that up, cause there’s something I’ve wanted to tell you for a long time now, but it’s hard.”

Brian: “What? What is it?”

Amanda: “Well, um, there may be a chance that you weren’t exactly my first.”

Brian: “What? How can that be?” He started to get up, but Amanda grabbed his hand.

Amanda: “No, don’t go, give me a chance to explain. This is what honesty is all about.” Brian sat back on the dock.

Brian: “Alright, I’m listening.”

Amanda: “Well, when I was 14, I went to my friends house and she had a party, and um, well there was this guy, Mike and we flirted a lot and well, I had a little too much to drink and um there was this dare for us to um go into the bedroom and make out, I don’t remember what happened but I woke up and I had no shirt and he was lying beside me under the covers.”

Brian: “Oh my God.”

Amanda was in tears “I’m so sorry, I know I should of told you, but I couldn’t. Please don’t hate me.”

Brian: “I could never hate you, I’m just in shock.”

Amanda: “This is all my fault.”

Brian: “No, don’t you ever blame yourself, this is all this guys fault. I promise you I’m going to find him and make him pay.” Brian quickly got up and ran to the beach.

Amanda called after him but her voice was lost by the crushing of the waves. “Please, don’t let him do anything stupid.” she silently prayed.

CHRISTINE

Chris and AJ were walking home from the hospital when they walked by someone that looked very familiar to Chris, she suddenly stopped in her tracks.

Chris: “Oh my God! That was Joey! I almost didn’t recognize him!”

AJ: “Who’s Joey?” But it was too late, Chris was already running after him to catch up.

Chris: “Joey!!!” He turned around trying to find who called his name.

Chris: “Yoo hoo, down here!” (she’s much shorter then him) “Do you remember me?”

Joey: “Oh ya, you’re one of Caroline’s friends right? Is it Lisa?”

Chris: “No, I’m Christine, this is my boyfriend AJ.” They shook hands.

Joey: “I came down here to visit you guys, where’s Caroline?”

AJ: “She’s at the house. Come on, we’ll walk you there.” They started to walk.

Howie was walking along the beach when he saw Brian. He looked furious.

Howie: “Hey man, where you going?”

Brian: “To kill Mike.”

Howie: “Who’s Mike? And why do you wanna kill him?”

Brian: “He’s a loser who took advantage of my girl awhile back. I just have to find out where he lives and-

Howie interrupted him “Woah, buddy slow down. Amanda told you about him probably to be honest with you, not so you could go out and kill him. If she wanted revenge she would have took it at the time.”

Brian: “But that creep used her!”

Howie: “You can’t go after every guy who’s hurt her. Imagine if she felt she had to bitch slap every girl that every hurt you? Going after that guy is not gonna solve anything or p[rove anything. All it’s gonna go is stir up trouble.”

Brian looked thoughtful “You know what buddy, maybe you’re right.”

Howie: “I know I am, I’m always right.”

Brian: “Thanks man, let’s go home. Whoever gets there last has to do the dishes!” He started to run.

Howie: “Fuck you man, you got a head start!’

Brian: “Oh well.”

Nick was walking back from the hospital when he saw Howie and Brian running like idiots on the beach.

Nick: “Brian!!!”

Brian turned his head to see who’s calling and tripped over his own feet, landing flat on his face. Howie cracked up but noticed Nick wasn’t smiling. Brian got up and brushed the sand off. “Nick what’s wrong?”

Nick: “Lisa had a heart attack from another overdose.”

Howie: “Oh my God, is she ok?”

Nick: “Yeah, but it will take her awhile to get over it.”

Brian: “We have to go tell everyone and do something really special for her to cheer her up.”

Howie: “That’s right, I think I have an idea…”

They ran to tell everyone.

Chris opened the front door. “Caro, someone’s here to see you.” Caro came running.

“Joey!!!!” She gave him a huge hug.

Caro: “AJ, Chris where were you guys?”

Chris: “Oh my God, I almost forgot. Lisa had a heart attack, she overdosed on pills again.”

Kev had just walked in “Woah, that’s horrible. Hey, who’s’ this?” He was looking straight at Joey as he put his arms around Caroline.

Caro: “Kev, I’d like you meet Joey, Joey this is my boyfriend Kevin.”

Joey: “Nice to meet you, I’ve heard all about you.”

Kev: “Funny, Caro never mentioned you.”

Just then Nick, Howie and Brian walked in.

Brian: “You guys heard about Lisa?”

Caro: “Yeah.” Her eyes started watering.

Howie: “Well, we decided to do something REALLY special for her. Let’s go upstairs to the den and talk about it.” They all followed Howie up the stairs.

During this time Erik had joined Cassie in her room to chat, he sat next to her on her bed.

Erik: “Whatcha thinking about?”

Cass: “Oh nothing.”

Erik: “Come on, you know how much I care about you. You can tell me anything.”

Cass: “It’s just that, well, I’m not sure if marrying Howie is the right thing to do right now. I mean, I know I love him, but I’m still so young. I’ve tried to tell him but he just doesn’t understand that I’m not ready for all of this.” She started to cry and Erik put his ram around her. She suddenly pulled away. “OW” she said and grabbed her stomach. “Ow!”

Erik: “What’s wrong?”

Cass: “My stomach…it hurts so much….excuse me I have to go to the wash room.”

She could barely walk, the pain was terrible. Erik helped her to the bathroom, she went in and closed the door behind her. Erik waited. When she came out tears were streaming down her cheeks.

Cass: “I—I—I---, I think I lost the b-baby…” She feel into Erik’s arms, he held her close and stroked her hair. “It’s ok.” He whispered. “don’t worry, everything will be ok…”

“Cassie, what’ going on?!?” Howie shouted as he reached the top of the stairs and saw what was happening “What are you going?”

Lisa woke up from her nap, she looked around, feeling very, very lonely. “No one even bothers to visit me.” She thought to herself. “And now I’ve told the one person who cares to leave me alone” She dropped her head into her hands and sobbed. “If only I could have just one more pill…”

Everyone who was in the stairs (AJ, Chris, Caro, Kev, Brian and Joey) turned around and headed back down when they saw what was happening. Amanda came in from the docks in time to see everyone coming down the stairs.

Amanda: “Joey, hi! Long time no see.”

Then she noticed everyone’s depressed/thoughtful expressions. “What happened?”

Brian: “Lisa had another overdose and it led to a heart attack.”

Amanda: “Oh my God! I have to go see her-

Chris: “Wait! We’re all planning on doing something special for her together.”

Amanda: “Ok, what is it?”

AJ: “Well, we don’t know. Howie was about to tell us but now he’s obviously very occupied…” Just then Howie, Cassie and Erik walked down the stairs. They noticed that everyone was looking at them

Howie: “Cassandra lost the baby.” A single tear trickled down his cheek as he looked down to the ground. “And the wedding is canceled”

AMANDA

Lisa was sprawled across the hospital bed. “No one cares about me. No one comes to see me anymore. I can’t blame them. Why would anyone want to spend their spare time with me?” She looked at the phone. “Who can I call?” Who actually cares? How about Michelle?”(Author’s Note: Michelle is one of Lisa’s friends, who’s she’s known since she was “this tall”) She picked up the phone and she dialed Michelle’s number.

“Hello?”

Lisa: “Hi can I please speak to Michelle?”

Michelle: “It’s me.”

Lisa: “Hi Michelle. It’s Lisa, I was just wondering,do you mind coming over to the hospital and-”

Michelle: “Um, Lisa. I have something to go to. I gotta go. Bye!”

She hung up the phone. Lisa stared at the phone.

Lisa: “Why doesn’t anyone want to see me?” Just then, Nick stood in the doorway.

Nick: “I’m here to bring you home.”

Lisa: “Even after everything I do, you’re still the only one who I can count on.”

Nick: “Come on, get your stuff and let’s go.” Lisa packed her stff and she went home with Nick. They got in the car.

Nick: “ Give me your purse.”

She passed him her purse. He went in it and took out her container of pills. He dumped them on the ground. He looked at Lisa. “Lisa, if you love me, as much as you say you do, please, promise me that you’ll never take pills again.” She looked at Nick. His hair was lightly blowing in the wind.

Lisa: “I promise.” They drove off to the house.

Christine: “Shh! Here she comes. Everyone hide!”

Everyone ran somewhere to hide. Lisa and Nick walked through the door.

All: “SURPRISE!!!” Lisa stood in shock. Everyone she possibly knew was there. She looked around, and spoke to herself. “Michelle, Tania, Tanya, Jason, Dhanesh, James,Vanessa, Mel... JAMES!” (Author’s Note: James was a guy that Lisa was crazy about a while back. He looks alot like Brian, but I think it’s his nose which is different... But Lisa’s WAY over him now. She’s got a new boyfriend. Chris... He’s a “Lion”... Hahaha) She slowly went over to Christine. She whispered to her.“What is James doing here?”

Christine: “I thought it would be nice to have him here.” Lisa rolled her eyes. She walked in the room.

Brian: “So how are you? Feeling better?”

Lisa: “Fine. Hey, where’s Cassie?”

Cassie sat down in her room at her desk. She held her engagement ring in her hand. She took the ring and spun it on her desk. She watched as it spun slower and slower, until it simply fell on the desk. She sat there and stared at the ring for a minute. She picked it up, looked at it one last time, and placed it in her jewlery box and closed the lid. She sat on her bed. Just then, Howie came in the room.

Howie: “Can we talk?”

Cassie: “Sure. Come and sit.” Howie sat down next to Cassie. He took her hands in his.

Howie: “Cassie, I felt that cancelling the wedding was a good decision. Do you feel the same?” Cassie played with her finger in the place where her ring once was.

Cassie: “I guess so. I’m so young. I guess that it was for the best.” She got up. “Come on, there’s a party going on, we should be there.” Howie walked out of the room. On her way out, Cassie opened her jewlery box,and looked at her ring once more. “If this is for the best, then why does it hurt so much?”

Back at the party Christine and Amanda were sitting on the couch.

Amanda: “Lisa was right, James does look like Brian.” Brian came over and sat down next to Amanda.

Brian: “What are you two talking about?” Chrisitne and Amanda looked at each other.

Christine: “Oh nothing.” The party was going pretty smooth, when all of a sudden you heard someone yell. It was Caroline.

Caroline: “What that hell are you doing?” She ran out of the kitchen and said to Dhanesh (Author’s Note: Dhanesh is one of our guy friends. He’s cool... Later on in the story, he writes a part. Look out for that one...) “Your girlfriend is a fucking slut!”

Caroline dashed out the door. Dhanesh went in the kichen and saw Geri (Author’s Note: Yes, this IS the red-headedex Spice Girl. She’s Dhanesh’s favorite, or was, and he wanted to be in the story, since all the guys knew we wrote this back in grade nine, and well, we put him in it, and he wanted to have Geri as his girlfriend,so here you have it!!! The story only gets weirder...) and Kevin standing there. Kevin had Geri’s shade of lipstick all over his neck, cheeks and lips. Dhanesh stood there for a moment, then he went outside to find Caroline.

Caroline was sitting on the steps of the house.Dhanesh went outside and sat next to her.

Caroline: “Why do I keep on fogiving him? He just goes off and hurts me over and over. I can’t stand it!”

Dhanesh: “I know how you feel. Geri does this constantly. I should have dropped her a long time ago.”

Caroline: “That’s what I’m going to do right now.Well, after I cool down. You know, when the party’s over.”

Dhanesh: “I think I’ll do that too.” Caroline slimed at Dhanesh.

Caroline: “Remind me why you’re such a good friend...”

Dhanesh: “Just because...”

Everything settled down a bit, and the party got back to normal. They were all listening to music. The song “When Your Body Get’s Weak” came on. Nick wasn’t in the room, so James took this opertunity to ask Lisa todance. Lisa agreed and hoped that Nick didn’t walk inthe room.

James: “So how’s everything? You don’t come to the pool anymore (Author’s Note: “The Pool” is the place where Lisa spends most of her summer. It’s the local pool that’s a five minute walk from her house.)...”

Lisa: “Well, I’ve been busy with friends and with Nick.”

James: “So you’re happy with this Nick guy, huh? You know, we had something going on. It could have been better then what you have with Nick.”

Lisa: “James, we had nothing going on, and how do you know how good I have it with Nick?”

James: “It’s just that, I miss you, that’s all.” Then they became silent. Nick came in the room. Lisa was worried. Nick just looked at her. He then went over to Brian and Amanda who were also dancing real close.

Nick: “Could I possibly cut in? I’d like to talk to Amanda.”

Brian: “Sure.” He kissed Amanda’s cheek.

Amanda: “So what do you want to talk about?”

Nick: “Who’s that guy with Lisa?”

Amanda: “He’s just a guy from her old pool who had a little thing for her.”

Nick: “It seems that his flame is still burning.” They looked over at the two of them. James’ hands were slowly descending Lisa’s back, making way for her rear. But, the song ended. Nick walked over to Lisa,and hugged her from the behind. He kissed her cheek.James got the idea, and he walked over to Michelle.

Paul and Christine were having a little talk on the couch. (Author’s Note: Paul is another guy friend of ours. He’s cool. We love you Paul!!!)

Paul: “I see some of you have changed your mind on pre-marital sex...” (Author’s Note: In grade 9,Caroline, Cassie and Christine all said that pre-marital sex was bad.)

Christine: “How did you know?”

Paul: “Believe me, I can tell when people are getting it, and when they aren’t. See Michelle and Jen V, they aren’t getting shit all. But you five, yeah, you’ve done it.” His girlfriend Jenny (Author’s Note: This is Jenny McCarthy. Paul was in love with her in grade nine, so we decided to make a dream of his come true...) came over, and he put his hand on her thigh.Christine: “I can tell you two have had it!”

Aj was having a serious talk with Kevin in his room.“What the hell were you thinking? Are you fucking stupid?”

Kevin: “I don’t know what came over me, it was just like in London last year.”

Aj: “What are you talking about?”

Kevin: “Well, when we did that Smash Poll Hits Award show, me and Geri had a thing going on.”

Aj: “What the- Does Caroline know?” Kevin looked down. “You didn’t tell her?!? Honestly, are you mentally retarded?” Just then Caroline walked in the room. “Um,I think I’ll leave you two alone.” Aj left the room.Kevin looked at her, he opened his mouth to speak, but Caroline stoped him.

Caroline: “Don’t even think about talking. You have nothing to say. I can’t believe that I have forgiven you time after time. This time, things are going to be different. I’m breakin it up. That’s that!”

Kevin: “I don’t understand!”

Caroline: “Just think about it!” She began to walk out of the room. “Ooh yeah, sometimes I think that meeting up with you, was a big mistake. My life is now officially fucked up!” And with that, she slamed his door shut.

Lisa, Aj walked up to Christine and Paul, who were still discussing the premarital sex thing.

Aj: “Hey Chris, want to dance?”

Christine: “Sure.” She smiled at Paul and Jenny. Shefollowed Aj to the middle of the dance floor, before she fell into his arms. Christine couldn’t help but notice that it was the song “I’m Still In Love WithYou”, her song with Tony (Author’s Note: Tony = Anthony). Aj started talking, but Christine wasn’t listening, she was looking around for Anthony. He was sitting on the couch staring at her.

Christine: “Aj, if you don’t mind, I’d like to ask Anthony to dance, it’s our song.”

Aj: “But Chris, it’s our song too...”

Christine:” I know, it’s just that...” She pulled away from Aj, and looked him straight in the eyes. “He needs me now.” Christine started to walk away towards Tony, when Aj grabbed her wrist.

Aj: “No. You’re dancing wih me.” Christine tried to pull away from his grip, but it only got tighter.

Christine: “Ow, Aj let go you’re hurting me.” She pleaded.

Aj: “I said you’re dancing with me, and that’s final.”

Christine: “Ok, fine, just please let go, please.” She had tears in her eyes. Aj let go of her wrist and Christine looked down at it. Her whole wrist wasbright red, she rubbed it.(Author’s Note: See, this was a story line I had for another story I, Amanda, was writing at the time all by myself. Lisa took the idea from me :(.)* * *Nick watched James sit down next to Michelle, before he turned around and faced Lisa.

Nick: “Hey sexy, do you think I could steal a dance before you get taken away again?”

Lisa: “I’d love to.” Nick held her in his arms as they danced.

Nick: “Lis, who’s that James guy?” Lisa’s mind was racing, saying “I need just one more pill, and I’ll befine, I must have hid a bottle or two somewhere in myroom...”

Lisa: “Um, just an old friend, but if you could just excuse me for a minute, I forgot something in my room.”

Nick: “In the middle of a song?”

Lisa: “Yeah, it’s really important. I’ll be back in acouple of minutes, promise.” With that, Lisa walked out of the room. When she was out of Nick’s sight she ran up to her room. She closed the door behind her and started to search her room. Her knees were hurting her so much, and that’s when she rmemebered she had hid some under her matress. She was just about to open the bottle when someone walked into the room, startled, she dropped the bottle onto the floor.

Brian and Amanda were busy making out on the couch in the corner, when the doorbell rang.

Brian: “Shit, someone better answer that.” He managed to say in between kissed. But no, the door bell rang again.

Amanda: “Fuck. I’ll get it, but don’t move, cause I’ll be back.” Amanda got up and fixed her hair, and went to answer the door. A man with a package was standing there.

Amanda: “May I help you?”

Man: “Yes, flowers for an Amanda...”

Amanda: “That’s me.”

Man: “Sign here please.” Amanda signed and took the package.

Amanda: “Thank you.” With that she closed the door behind him. Brian came up behind her.

Brian: “Who’s it from?”

Amanda: “I don’t know yet, I didn’t open it up. They aren’t from you?”

Brian: “No, that’s strange...”Amanda opend it up and screamed. There were 13 deadblack roses, but that’s not what made her scream. It was the card. Writeen on the card in blood, was a message that made Amanda tremble.

Just as Caroline started down the stairs, she heard Kevin call out “Slut! At least I don’t go kissing my so called girlfriend’s cousins!” She stopped short and stormed back into Kevin’s room.

Caroline: “You fucking bastard. You have some nerver calling me a slut, who you’re the one that’s off making out with a fucking porn star!” Caroline had tears streaming down her face.

Kevin: “Aw, I’m so sorry baby but why don’t you go crying to Steph... Wait, better yet, Joey. I’m sure they’ll make it all bettter, since I’m no good at shit all.”

Caroline: “You make me sick! You fucking Backstree tBoys think you’re all good, when let me tell you, you’re not. Fuck, and to think I actually put up with you!”

Kevin: “Oh can it bitch!”

Caroline: “I’m out of here.” She started for the door.

Kevin: “Don’t forget your fucking rodent.” He grabbed Spot out of his cage, and threw him across the room at Caroline. Unfortunatly, Caroline didn’t catch Spot. He hit the wall hard, and fell to the floor with a thud.(Author’s Note: Sadly enough, young Spot passed away some time ago. He will be missed...)

Cassie couldn’t help it, she unhooked her gold chain and put the ring on it. She put the chain back on her neck, and walked down the stairs to where the music was blaring. Now where did Howie disapear to she thought as she walked over to where Paul, Dhanesh and Jenny were sitting.

Paul: “Hey Cassie! How are you?”

Cassie: “I’m fine, I guess you heard?”

Dhanesh: “No, about what?”

Cassie: “Well, i’s kind of hard for me to say, buumm... I kind of lost the baby and...” She couldn’t finish her sentence because she broke down into tears.

Paul: “Oh Cassie, I’m so sorry.” He gave her a hug.

Cassie: “It’s okay, I’m fine.” She pulled away and wiped her face.

Paul: “Want to go somewhere quiet and talk?”

Cassie: “Sure, if Jenny doesn’t mind...” She looked inquiringly at Jenny.

Jenny: “Go right ahead, I’ll keep Dhanesh company.”Paul leaned over and gave Jenny a quick kiss, and then escorted Cassie to an open bedroom to talk. Howie walked in the room just in time to see Paul close the door behind them.

CAROLINE

(Author’s Note: Okay, right around here, things are kind of messed up. We made a few mistakes, as you’ll soon notice, but why don’t we all just try to pretend we didn’t??? Okay???) Back in her bedrrom, Lisa was shocked to see Dhanesh standing at her door looking at her with a disapointed look.

Dhanesh: “Lisa, what are you doing? Don’t you see what those stupid pills are doing to you?”

Lisa: “I just need one I’ll be fine. Just one.”

Dhanesh. “Why? You have everything going for you, agreat guy-”

Lisa: “Nick pities me, that’s all, and what do you care what I do?”

Dhanesh: “Don’t be like that, we grew up together andI’ll always be your friend.”

Lisa: “I know, I know, sorry I snapped at you, but please don’t tell anyone what you saw, please.”

Dhanesh: “But you need help-”

Lisa: “What I need is a reliable friend.”

Dhanesh: “And you know that I’m here anytime.”

Lisa: “What about Geri?”

Dhanesh: “You’re much more important then her.”

Lisa: “Really?”

Dhanesh: “I never lie. Now get up and come back to the party with me.”

Lisa got up. “Thank you, you’re truly one in amillion.” She she gives him a big hug. While she’s hugging him, she realizes how comfortable she is with him and how close she feels to him, while it seems like her and Nick are growing apart. The more she thought about it the more Dhanesh seemed like the perfect guy for her, but far in the bottom of her mind, was a picture of Nick.

Brian was holding Amanda in his arms trying to comfort her. “Amanda, sweetheart, don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen, you know that.”

Amanda: “But Brian, look at the card.” Brian looked down at he card and saw “Roses are red, Violets are blue, Enjoy these last days, For they will be few...”

Brian: “I’m sure it’s just Rick trying to scare you,look, you go back to the party, and I’ll get rid of all this stuff, okay?”

Amanda: “Sure.” She said with a hint of fear in her voice as she headed back to the party.Brian picked up the flower and threw them out. So, he thought, Rick wants to play huh, well, I’ll show him play... But still, further in his mind, was the thought that maybe Mike was behind all this, well,whoever it was, he wans’t going to let this person get away with it.

Caroline fell to the floor and poked Spot with her fingers. But he didn’t move.

Caroline: “Come on Spot. Please run around, bite me,anything, please-”

Kevin: “He’s fine.”

Caroline: “You shut the fuck up. You knew how much Spot meant to me.”

Kevin: “He’s just a rodent.”

Caroline: “He’s not a rodent, he’s a living thing with feelings.” She went back to Spot. “Come on, do something, oh I get it, you’re playing dead again.Well, now it’s time to get up, get up...”

Kevin: “Caroline he’s gone.”

Caroline: “You! You did this you bastard!”

Kevin: “I didn’t mean for the rat to die, I’m not cruel!”

Caroline: “You’re nothing but a cold hearted jerk.”She picked up Spot, and places him in her hands. She started to walk out the door.

Kevin: “Where are you going?”

Caroline: “Anywhere you’re not!”

Kevin: “I’m sorry it died.”

Caroline: “No, you’re not! You liar! Just go back to your whore Geri!” She walked out of the room, and slamed the door.

*** Christine walked over to see Anthony, he had tears in his eyes.

Chrisitine: “This is our song.”

Tony: “I thought this was your song with Aj?”

Christine: “It will always be ours first, now how about you come and dance with-”

Tony: “Christine! What happend to your arm?” Christine tried to cover the mark Aj had left on her arm just moments earlier.

Christine: “Oh nothing, I must have hit myself onsomething.”

Tony: “Why are you lying to me? I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re lying. Now what really happend to your arm?”C

hristine: “Like I said before, nothing!”

Tony: “Oh my god. Did Aj do this to you?”

Christine: “Well, um-” She looked down at the floor.

Tony: “ Look at me and tell me that he didn’t do this.”

Christine looked up. “I can’t.”

Tony: “I’m going to kill him, I swear to God...”

Christine grabbed his arm. “No, Tonyy, don’t go. I need you right now, stay with me.” Tony takes Christine into his arms. “Don’t worry. I’ll never leave you again.”

(Author’s Note: Just a little thing. In grade nine,Cassie had a thing for Paul, that is why we did this in the story...) Cassie and Paul had been in her bedroom for a good halfhour when they finally left to go downstairs to find a fuming Howie pacing.

Howie: “Cassie, I need to talk to you, now.”

Paul: “Leave her alone.”

Howie: “What are you? Her protector?”

Cassie: “Paul, I can handle Howie, thanks.”

Paul: “Alright, but I’m right here.” Cassie and Howieleft to another bedroom.

Howie: “So what were you and Paul doing?”

Cassie: “That’s none of your business.”

Howie: “What does that mean?”

Cassie: “Paul is my friend and I can do whatever I want with him.”

Howie: “So, did you sleep with him?”

Cassie: “So what if I did, you don’t own me.”

Howie: “I can’t believe you’s leave me for Paul, ugh.”

Cassie: “I never knew you were so selfish.”

Howie: “There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”

Cassie: “Well, ehre’s something you should know.”

Howie: “What’s that?”

Cassie: “Paul is a lot, a whole lot better then youc an ever dream of being.” Howie stormed out of the room, just as Caroline headed in.

Caroline: “Oh my god! I couldn’t help but overhear, did you and Paul really?”

Cassie: “That’s for me and him to know.”

CHRISTINE

It was 3 am. The party had died out and things were pretty quiet. Dhanesh and Paul had left around 2:30.Cassie was in Caroline’s room, they were talking. Geri had disapreared a long time ago with some guy she met on the street. Jenny had to be home at 11:30 so her parents picked her up (Author’s Note: Hahahaha).Christine had finally persuaded Anthony to leave, promissing that she would be fine. She was in her room now, with Aj. Howie and Kevin had gone out to get some drinks at a bar. Lisa was lying next to Nick on his bed, trying to get some sleep, but she couldn’t get a certain someone out of her head. Amanda was in Brian’s room, and even though he had his arms around her reassuringly, she couldn’t get to sleep. The fear in her stomach was growing bigger and bigger. Brian and her had checked at least five time to see if the windows and doors were locked, but she still felt unsafe. Her life was in danger, and that’s not something she could just brush off her shoulders.

Dhanesh and Paul were in the car, driving home. Paulwas giving Dhanesh a life. (Author’s Note: In reality, Dhanesh would be giving Paul the lift, since he has the lisence out of the two of them)

Dhanesh: “So Paul, you like you and Cassie had it going on in her bedroom...”

Paul: “Huh, that’s me and Cassie’s secret.” He snickered.

Dhanesh: “All I know is that when you guys came out of that room, Cassie’s shirt was buttoned up all wrong,that ring was missing from her chain, and you looked pretty happy.”

Paul: “Yeah well-”

Dhanesh cut him off. “Watch out!!!”A car heading in the opposite direction had apparently lost control and was heading straight for them, fast. Paul tried to swerve the car out of the way, but itwas too late. The on coming car hit them with a loudsmash.

Meanwhile in Caroline’s room...

Cassie: “Whoa, Caroline. I can’t believe Kevin would do that! I think it’s a syndrome that’s going around, because Howie’s been acting like and asshole too lately... Oh my god. I just got the weirdest feeling!Her face became pale.

Caroline: “Cassie? What? What is it?”

Cassie: “I don’t know. I just got this really scary overwhelming feeling that something terrible just happend.”

Caroline: “What do you mean What happend?” But Cassie had already left the room. She met up with Lisa who was running down the stairs at the exact samemoment.

Lisa: “Cassie, did you feel it? I think Dhanesh is in trouble!” She grabed her hands.

Cassie: “Yeah, I felt it. We got to find them.” They ran downstaris, grabbed their coats, and left.

Howie and Kevin are at the bar. They’re about to order drinks.

Howie: “You know, drinking won’t help anything. The only thing we can do is apologize to our girls and beg for forgiveness.”

Kevin: “You’re right, let’s get out of here.” As they’re driving down the road, Howie is thinking of how much he loves Cassie. He doesm’t care is she slept with Paul, he knows that when himself made love to her, it meant much more. And she was probably right. He had pushed into this marriage thing, and the baby had greatly influenced both their decisions, and now, that it was gone, they had much more options, and a lot more time. Just because she wasn’t really ready for marriage, didn’t mean she doesn’t love him...Then his attention was caught by a familliar car that seemed to have just been smashed into a ditch.

Howie: “Kevin! Pull over, it looks like there was an accident here! Hey, I think that’s Paul’s car!”

Kevin pulled over and they both rushed out to help Paul and Dhanesh.
