Baked Cinnamon French Toast 12 slices cinnamon bread 1/4 cup softened butter 9 eggs 1 quart milk 2 cups whipping cream 1 cup sugar 4 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract Line the bottom of a greased 13x9x2 baking dish with 6 slices of bread. Butter remainin bread. Place with butter side up and over the bread in the dish. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, then add milk. cream sugar and vanilla and mix well. Pour over bread and let stand for 15 minutes. Place the dish in a larger baking dish and pour boiling water to a level of 1 inch on the smaller baking dish. Bake uncovered at 375 for 40 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Top with whipped cream or warmed preserves, Great if served with a sausage casserole, quiche, or bacon.
