FY 2000 Assistant Marine Officer Instructor AMOI Billet Vacancies
 

MARADMIN 200/99 announced the solicitation of applications for FY00 AMOI billet vacancies.  See MCO 1326.6C for eligibility requirements.  Primary emphasis for selection will continue to be concentrated in the grades of Staff Sergeant and Gunnery Sergeant with an additional MOS of 8511 (Drill Instructor).

The FY00 AMOI selection board will accept applications for the following billets:

In addition to the eligibility requirements contained in MCO 1326.6C, Marines applying for the AMOI program must have returned to their PMOS for a minimum of three years prior to attaching to an AMOI billet.  Marines will be required to be eligible during the summer months to support the bulldog program at officer candidate school Quantico, Virginia.

The following restrictions apply:
    * Marines receiving selective reenlistment bonus (SRB) installments are restricted from applying for this program.
    * Marines who will not possess a minimum of three years time on station at estimated date of departure are
        restricted from applying for this program, unless they possess two years time on station at estimated date of
        departure and are requesting a billet in the same geographic area.

The selection board is scheduled to convene at HQMC during July 1999.  Applications must be forwarded to CMC (MMEA-85) to arrive NLT 16 June 1999.  For additional information on this program see MCO 1326.6C and MARADMIN 200/99.
 
 


 
 
 

Active Reserve (AR) Program


 


1.  MARADMIN 218/99 ANNOUNCED SOLICITATION OF APPLICATIONS FROM QUALIFIED ENLISTED MARINES FOR SELECTION TO AN INITIAL TOUR WITH THE AR PROGRAM.
2.  AR ENLISTED NEW APPLICANT SELECTION BOARDS WILL CONVENE PERIODICALLY AT THIS HQ.  THE NEXT AR ENLISTED ACCESSION BOARD IS SCHEDULED TO CONVENE ON 29 JUNE 1999.  COMPLETED ORIGINAL APPLICATIONS WITH ENCLOSURES AND ENDORSEMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE CMC (RAM-2) NLT 7 WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO THE BOARD DATE, ONLY ORIGINAL APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.  LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE DEFERRED TO THE NEXT SCHEDULED ACCESSION BOARD. ACTIVE COMPONENT MARINES INTERESTED IN THE AR PROGRAM SHOULD APPLY TO THE AR PROGRAM WITHIN 120 DAYS OF THEIR EAS.
3.  MARINES CAN APPLY FOR EITHER CAREER FORCE BILLETS OR LIMITED TOUR BILLETS.

Enlisted PME Requirement By Grade


For selection to Staff Sergeant:

1. NCO Basic nonresident Program (MCI 7000) or
2. Prior to 18 Sep 91, MCI Course 03.3, The Marine NCO or
3. After 1 Aug 96, Sergeants Course (MCI 8000)

For selection to Gunnery Sergeant:

1. SNCO Career Nonresident Program (MCI 7100)

For selection to Master Sergeant:

1. SNCO Advanced Nonresident Program (MCI 7200) and
2. Warfighting Skills (MCI 7400)

For selection to First Sergeant:

1. SNCO Career Resident or Nonresident Course and
2. SNCO Advanced Nonresident Program and
3. SNCO Advanced Resident Course and
4. Warfighting Skills Program

*It is important to note that attendance at only the resident course does not fulfill the PME requirement. Nonresident course completion is the requirement for promotion. However, attendance at the resident course and completion of the nonresident course is recommended to make any Marine highly competitive for promotion.
 
 

1999 Staff Sergeant Selection Board

The 1999 Staff Sergeant Selection Board will convene on 20 July 1999 for a period of about 9 weeks. All PME requirements must be completed prior to 20 July 1999. Those Marines who have not completed the appropriate level PME prior to the convening date of the selection board will be considered less than fully qualified for promotion. All sergeants who meet the date or rank (DOR) and armed forces active duty base date (AFADBD) cutoff, for their MOS, will be considered for selection to staff sergeant.

Forced Lateral Moves for Enlisted Marines with PMOS 0151


 


ALMAR 345/98 announced career opportunities for enlisted Marines with PMOS 0151 and MARADMIN 170/98 identified Marines with PMOS 0151 by name for lateral move into another PMOS. The reduction of the 0151 population has been accomplished, and forced lateral moves, of those Marines who have not already executed a lateral move, are no longer required. MOS Merger of Personnel Clerk (0121) and Unit Diary Clerk (0131)


 


MOS 0121 and 0131 will merge into a single MOS of 0121. This merger will affect Marines in the grade of private through sergeant and will be effective on 1 Oct 1999. Those Marines currently possessing a primary MOS of 0131 will retain the 0131 MOS as a 1st additional MOS for assignment purposes for a period not to exceed four years. No additional formal school training is applicable for personnel previously designated as either MOS 0121 or 0131. Additional MOS requirements will be accomplished via on the job training.
