Session Start: Tue Apr 21 21:02:01 1998 * Logging #browsers to: [#browsers.log] **Skoal is telling how to save old version of NS while downloading new version just to make sure evreything works ok.** make a folder called Netscape2then copy all the contence of your current netscape folder into it then do the update like normal test it out if everything is ok then you can delete the temp folder ok so then if doesn't work I just change path and come back and scream for help? :) If it doesn't work you will still have the old one to use in the other folder. yep all you have to do is remove the update and rename the temp folder back ok thanks skoal np Kinkell Thanks skoal too new to all this, don't trust myself! anytime oz :) whois skoal He has been a student and helper in VU. I wish I had a better system for keeping track Make lots of notes and don't loose them. How do you get all those things to work I can't get mail set up in netscape but I can already do all that with outpost I have started making my notes in notepad so they are always on the computer. this is what I have done to try to keep myself straight this term Eagel's Nest- the URL for study groups info at http://members.tripod.com/~MCW_2/EagelsNest/en lol but i even still get lost I don't even know how to use notepad ive got netscape communicator professional edition It is just a plain text editor. and i use eudora + mail go to start/programs/accessories/notepad Be sure to save it with a name you will remember though. even got it registered Does it have some good stuff in it? lots I still have IE and it is black and white compared to NC in the stores around here IE 4 crashed my system when I first tryied to install it Purged everything and now it always locks up I just have MIE 3 and will leave it at that. After you get there, and type something in, how do you get back to it, eagel I have put the notepad itself on a shortcut to desktop then all I do is open notepad and open the file I want does that make sense? Do you have notepad+ eagel? I think it is on here somewhere but like me it is also lost Just go to file and open and find the file name I should probably start using notepad+ though I can't find notepad on explorer to make a shortcut out of it eagel. then do a find OK start/find/folder/notepad no in your windows is notepad When you open notepad you go to the file menu and do a save as and then that is the file you look for the next time. I'll have to try it I have notepad files for Netscape tips, Ms tips, URLs I want to look at, etc. It is a good way to save all those tips from email tips. sounds great it worked eagel-thanks Good luck Take the plunge and get the new netscape. You will like it much better. I will cya l8r I am very new at this stuff and I did it you can too. Come back anytime. . Session Close: Tue Apr 21 21:31:09 1998
