Last night in my thoughts
an image of you in shimmering light
My tears glistened in reflection
brought forth by the ache in my heart
Oh the trembling in my soul
craving the gentleness of your touch
The bitter chill of emptiness
thirsting the warmth of your smile
In anguish, I close my eyes
awaiting the angels of sleep
The pain of your absence gone
for in my dreams we walk together
Just as it should be ....

This next poem was written by a
very special friend of mine.

I watched a snowflake drifting down,
Watched until it touched the ground.
Saw the flowers bloom in June,
Watched the grass as it turned green...
Realized,we'd just passed spring.
Watched the birds that circled high,
In the heat of a summer sky.
Saw a leaf fall from a tree,
Thought of how short life can be...
I watched a snowflake drifting down,
watched until...it touched the ground.

(This is dedicated
to someone who has made a big
difference in my life.)

I have been here before,
But when or how I cannot tell:
I know the grass beyond the door,
The sweet keen smell,
The sighing sound, the lights around the shore.

You have been mine before,-
How long ago I may not know:
But when all that swallow's soar
Your neck turned so,
Some veil did fall,-
I knew it all of yore.

Has this been thus before?
And shall not thus times eddying flight
Still with our lives and love restore
In death's despite,
And day and night yeild one delight once more?

-Dante Gabriel Rossetti-

Heart, are you great enough
For a love that never tires?
O heart, are you great enough for love?
I have heard of thorns and briers.
Over the thorns and briers,
Over the meadows and stiles,
Over the world to the end of it
Flash for a million miles..

a tender look which becomes a habit.

Take all my loves, my love, yea, take them all;
What hast thou then more than thou hadst before?
No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call;
All mine was thine, before thou hadst this more.
Then if for my love thou my love receivest,
I cannot blame thee for my love thou usest,
But yet be blam'd, if thou thyself deceivest
By wilful taste of what thyself refusest.
I do forgive thy robbery, gentle thief,
Although thou steal thee all my poverty;
And yet, love knows, it is a greater grief
To bear love's wrong, than hate's known injury.
Lascivious grace, in whom all ill well shows,
Kill me with spites: yet we must not be foes.

Roving god, whose playfellows
Over the mountains' airy brows
In happy chase are led;
Where Love, who breaks the heart of pride,
Or Nymphs amuse thee, violet-eyed,
Or Aphrodite keeps thy side,
The goddess rosy Red---
Lord Dionyse, I kneel to thee;
Stoop to me of thy charity
And this my prayer receive:
Dear Lord, thy best persuasion use,
Bid Cleobulus not refuse
The gift of love I give.

Translated by T. F. Higham

You're special...Remember that always!

Far better it is to dare mighty things,
to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failures,
than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy
much nor suffer much because they live in the gray
twilight that knows not victory or defeat.
-Theodore Roosevelt-

What is life?
A frenzy, An illusion, A shadow, a fiction,
and the Greatest good is of slight worth
since life is but a dream, and dreams, are only dreams...
Yet if hope has flown away in a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none, is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream...
