the music ...

     The repertory   is based on the music of  the great gypsy jazz guitarist DJANGO REINHARDT (1910/1953). Django is now considered as one of the most important musician in european jazz. His approach to music is a jazz approach that's why it is difficult to indicate his music as "gypsy jazz" even if the so-called gypsy jazz or "jazz Manouche" is a very attractive and fresh music .

        Django was a great composer and also an artist able to transform well known jazz standards or simple french songs in instantaneous jazz masterpieces. Why not starting here ?

        Django was also an incredible guitarist always working on the sound of an acoustic (Selmer) or electro-acoustic instrument  (Selmer with a Stimer microphone). The palette he used , or better he uses (as sometimes I think he is still playing somewhere round us), is so wide that it's natural to be attracted by this magic guitar.              

        Django was above all an astonishing improviser. The phrases he used were always different and he was always attentive to build an atmosphere when starting his solo. He was always telling the truth that's why it is so simple to follow the road he traced for us toward higher standarts of expressiveness. That's what we are trying to do.
